FATHER, THANK YOU FOR THIS TIME TO COME TOGETHER WITH OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO CELEBRATE YOUR GOODNESS AND THE GREAT CITY WE LIVE IN, AND THE NEW LEADERSHIP WITHIN OUR CITY. LORD, WE ASK YOU FOR WISDOM FOR ALL OF OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS. LORD, WE PRAY THAT YOU WILL GUIDE THEM, DIRECT THEM, THAT YOU WILL HELP THEM MAKE THE BEST DECISIONS FOR OUR CITY. LORD WE JUST PRAY FOR YOUR STRENGTH AND YOUR PROTECTION AROUND THEM AND YOUR FAMILIES. WE ASK THAT YOU KEEP THEM STRONG AND HEALTHY. This is sad that he capitulated and gave it a blessing it did not deserve.

He’s right in some sermons, the gospel deserves optimism, not the oh-woe-is-me approach.

But you can’t make a god out of optimism either. That god will tell you to do whatever feels good.

What in the world are you talking about? They should continue to preach the Word, just as they have been. They should not turn transcripts of their sermons over to Houston to be vetted or censored. Government has no place in in the Church.
