Ottawa shooting kills Canadian soldier at War Memorial
A soldier was shot and killed at the National War Memorial Wednesday morning before a single suspect was shot dead at Parliament. The chaotic situation is ongoing as police seek multiple suspects in the attack.
“One shooting victim succumbed to injuries. He was a member of the Canadian Forces. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his loved ones,” Ottawa police said in a statement. The soldier will not be identified until his family is notified, police added.
The soldier is believed to be a reservist from Hamilton, Ontario.
“One male suspect has also been confirmed deceased,” police said. Sources told The Canadian Press that Kevin Vickers, the sergeant-at-arms for the House of Commons and 29-year RCMP veteran, shot the gunman within Parliament.
The situation remains very active as police have said they cannot confirm the number of shooters, just that it is more than one.
“This is an ongoing joint police operation and there is no one in custody at this time,” the statement from the RCMP and Ottawa police said....

This week - Monday, actually. One of them was killed, the other injured.
CANADIAN Islamic Amish. That should be fairly small community.
Those peaceful muslims must so hate the unfortunate coincidences that people with muslim names just happen to be the ones that cause these little problems.
We have Wednesday night church tonight. For the first time, I am going armed. I have been thinking that I need to carry to church, but have not to this point. But, now, sadly I am carrying it inside with me. I cannot get our pastor to take notice of the threats around this world, even in our churches, and get him to even lock the doors during services. Our church is wide open. I am going to carry from now on. At another church we used to attend, we had guards inside and out, and they were armed. As services started, the doors were locked down and a guard was in a golf cart riding around outside and inside there was a guard in the main hall. They took it seriously. At this church, I cannot seem to get the pastor to recognize that it only takes one incident. I will keep trying.
So how long before we know the race, religion of the dead guy?

Captain Marie-France Poulin, the public affairs officer at CFB Valcartier says military personnel have received the order to not wear their uniform in public places, unless they are on official duty.
She says this order applies to soldiers across Quebec, but wouldn't confirm if it applies across Canada. Poulin says Valcartier has also tightened security measures at the entrance of the base. A military police unit, that normally patrols the base, will be stationed at the gates permanently. Two security commissionaires are also present. Vehicles will have to show identification and could be searched at random. Poulin says she received no indication that the base would be locked down.
Instead, Captain Marie-France Poulin should be forced to resign and be forbidden from ever donning a uniform again. The Islamic uniform is protected. The Islamic culture is protected. Islamic centers of war preparation, aka mosques and Islamic Centers are protected...ALL AT THE EXPENSE of the Canadian people.
One Canadian soldier died today. Two Canadians were wounded. For WHAT? To have someone like "Captain" Marie-France Poulin raise the white flag of surrender?

It sounds to me like the attack in Ottawa was just one guy, or two at the most.
