By ordering military bases shut down, the Canadian government is acting upon the assumption that this is a jihad attack, and one that is being carried out in obedience to the Islamic State’s call to target Western military personnel.

Military bases are being shut down across Canada in response to today’s events.
All parliamentary personnel have received an email titled “Security Alert”.
It states: “All buildings are currently in lockdown. This means stay in your office with the doors locked. Stay away from the windows.”

Now that some jihadis have shot up the CANADIAN WAR MEMORIAL, I wonder if someone can tell me if the guards at OUR TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN at Arlington are carrying LOADED WEAPONS or would that make too much sense?
As we all know, the geniuses at the other end of the Mall (the Capitol) inhabit a very safe and well guarded armed camp.
I do not like that wording at all. When your country is attacked, your military should be on maximum alert, not "shut down". I hope they mean some form of lock down, where outsiders are barred from entry to the base, not a shut down where the military are disarmed and sent home.
I wonder if they were shouting allahu akbar?
