Kentucky's U.S. Senate race remains a dead heat two weeks before Election Day, with U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell regaining the slimmest of leads over Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes in a new Bluegrass Poll.
The poll of 655 likely voters found McConnell leading Grimes 44 percent to 43 percent. Libertarian David Patterson received 5 percent support, drawing voters from across the political spectrum. Eight percent were undecided.

A party leader and incumbent with less than 50% of the vote and a 1% lead; how utterly pathetic.
What a ringing endorsement of the GOPe.
What a ringing endorsement of the GOPe.
This chart from Sabato shows the turtle with less than 30% chance
It’s unfortunate there’s no practical way for both of them to lose.
I imagine many people would be ashamed to tell a pollster they were voting for him.
For what Rasmussen may still be worth, after a Soros group bought it, McConnell is ahead:

“Mitch McConnell on beating tea party: ‘We are going to crush them’”
I know this isn’t a popular view here but I want McConnell defeated. A Dem is the only way to get him out.
The internals of this poll show that 38% of the respondents were Republican and 48% were Democrats with 14% identifying as independents. Is that an accurate sampling of the electorate in Kentucky?
I’m not planning to celebrate, but I could/would.
He’s utterly terrible.
I suspect both party’s internals are showing something more definitive. I could be wrong about that, but the DSCC pulling its ads in Kentucky would seem to indicate that they don’t think Grimes is all that close.
Not especially thrilled about McConnell winning, either. But a hold is a hold.
Hope Roberts can pull it out in Kansas. KS and KY appear to be the Democrats’ best chances for Senate pickups (I don’t think Nunn is going to pull it out in Georgia, though again I could be wrong).

Riight. If the spoiler were not on the ballot, I suspect most of that 5% would vote for McConnell, and most of the rest would stay home.
Labeling McConnell as ‘Turtle’ because of his neck which many people are prone to as a part of aging is juvenile and detracts from the real issues.
One of the unforgivable acts of McConnell is his directing of PAC funds to aid Cochran and his directing political resources to attack supporters of Cochran’s opponents.
One of the supporters of Cochran’s supporters was a fine upstanding Mississippi lawyer named Mark Mayfield who suffered a wrongful death caused by the direct involvement of Cochran. When you read about what the knuckleheads in Mississippi did to him and you trace it back to McConnell and a lot of GOP Senators that blindly followed McConnell’s directions, now you’ve got something to attack him personally with that is much more serious than a ‘Turtle’ cartoon.
