the California Nurses Association and other labor unions that campaigned for a single-payer health system for decades. Now that it has arrived in the form of Obamacare
ObamaCare isn't single-payer. It's a third-position program where the government calls the shots and pays some of the bills, but the services are still delivered via private industry (like Kaiser).
It needs to be pointed out, here specifically, that ObamaCare is functioning as designed. Increasing pressure on various pain-points throughout the healthcare industry with an intent to make adoption of true single-payer inevitable.
These nurses are just getting to play the "useful idiot" role; I'm guessing that this has only increased their demand for true single-payer, rather than changing their minds on the value of the "old" system. As planned ...

Nurses are demanding a form of “risk” pay to prepare to fight Ebola. They also are demanding improved training, higher staffing levels, protective gear that exceeds the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requirements, and an added life insurance benefit. On the latter point, the CNA is correct; CDC standards for PPE are ridiculously inadequate.
