A Loudoun County Adult Detention Center inmate who had recently been to Ebola-affected areas of West Africa has been transported to Inova Loudoun Hospital in Lansdowne after experiencing a low-grade fever, the first symptom of the deadly virus.
The inmate had traveled from West Africa within the past 21 days, according to a press release from Loudoun County's Communications Office.
"As a precautionary measure, because the inmate had traveled from a high-risk area known for Ebola outbreaks, the inmate was isolated and monitored at the ADC," according to the statement. "Out of an abundance of caution, protective measures were put in place and EMS transported the patient to the Emergency Room in the Basic Life Support unit."
Loudoun County released information at 1:30 p.m. today stating local government agencies are prepared in the event a case of Ebola occurs. And Dulles Airport today started more stringent screening measures for travelers arriving from West Africa countries, including taking their temperature.
Loudoun County Health Department Director Dr. David Goodfriend is encouraging people to wash their hands, cover their mouth with their elbows when they cough or sneeze, get their annual flu shot, avoid contact with anyone who is sick and stay home when they feel sick.
Public health authorities say the risk of Ebola spreading widely in the United States is low.
Its important to remember that people with Ebola cannot spread germs until they have symptoms, and that the disease is spread through direct contact with the bodily fluids of a person who has Ebola, Goodfriend said.

Is there any reason we should believe this, any more than all the rest of the hooey from the CDC and "experts" and Zero?
I simply don’t believe these are all false alarms. Once again, we’re being lied to. Time to get my bug out bag ready.
BUG OUT? How appropriate.
Is this inmate an illegal?
------------------
"Illegal immigrants are being secretly flown to Massachusetts and kept in local lockups in an under-the-radar operation that has alarmed lawmen who are raising health and security concerns amid recent spikes in detainees coming up from Texas during the latest border crisis.
Were all becoming border sheriffs now with these people being carted all over the country, said Bristol County Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson."

No, Maryland.
If it weren’t serious, it would be funny.
For the past six years, I have read column after column, many written by some very smart people, that asks the question, is he evil or stupid?
I always answered if you are asking the question, the answer is he should not be in a position of power, in a position of power where American lives are on the line.
Now we know the answer. He is evil. He will not stray from his ideology even when he is putting American lives at risk. His ideology trumps all. President Obama is an evil man.
I mean Virginia. Somewhere around there.
How long before the news stories aren’t about one specific potential patient in one specific country, but listings of numbers of cases in various regions?
Right you are. Although I do hope this is a false alarm, part of me would like to see the folks who live around DC have to live with an ebola outbreak in their backyard — in their school, hospitals, stores, and airports.
Once that happens, you can be sure that changes related to travel policies are not far away.
Might not be a bad time for a couple of the Nuke Cruisers to put to sea right now.
One month.
"inmate" immediately leaps off the page
Look what's happened in just the last few weeks, now that non-Africans are affected. New treatments, vaccines being tested ...
There's a real possibility that Ebola could be defeated in the near future, because the people with the power to do something are suddenly afraid for themselves and their friends and families.
