It was one thing for Joe Scarborough to make the case for Mitt Romney, arguing that these frightening times demand the kind of competence Romney offers.
But on today's Morning Joe, it was stunning to hear a New York Dem like Donny Deutsch say something very similar. According to the ad man: "There is a psychological reason to go to Mitt Romney, and that is: wow! We kind of made a mistake four years ago. We get to do a do-over. He was right about Syria, he was right about a lot of things."

Neither R0mney nor McCain showed any evidence of actually wanting to be elected President.
Like the movie “Groundhog Day”, keep doing it over until you get it right? Deutsch must either be smoking something or be nuts.
I am totally expecting Mitt to run. There is just too much talk about it. The GOPe has tried pushing Chrispy and Jeb with little success so don’t faint if they go back to Romnehy.
Taking down Romney on his obvious flaws would be one thing.
But the Democrats constructed this phony fake pantomime Romney (dog abuser, birth control stealer, giving people cancer) and ran against THAT guy. And it worked.
Just like they took down Sarah Palin by constructing a fake phony Sarah on SNL.
Our population is so stoooopid we’re DOOMED.
All Romney needed to do to win was to BE what he said he was, Conservative.
Romney is the bankers’ bootlick, that’s all you gotta know. He and he alone won the presidency for Obama’s 2nd term. He and his greeting card family is every bit as much about image affinity as Obama was. A vote for Romney is a vote for Chase-Manhattan. We desperately need to run a candidate with an I.Q. above that of a turnip.
I just received an e-mail from Romney, the first two lines read
“This is the most critical time, Fellow Conservative.
But Im going to be blunt: the left is once again out-raising us and damaging our conservative candidates with a flood of attack ads.”
This is the most critical time, Fellow Conservative.
But Im going to be blunt: the left is once again out-raising us and damaging our conservative candidates with a flood of attack ads.
Guess he’s “Severely Conservative” again.
My response didn’t take. I don’t know what happened.
First, I’m not Romney’s fellow Conservative, I’m Conservative and he’s not, secondly, Romney is the one that was damaging our Conservative candidates with a flood of attack ads.
I heard zero pushback from team Mitt.
“Palin please consider stepping up this time.”
I liked Palin a lot, but I think she’s squandered her opportunity. She did too much waffling last time, when we needed someone decisive.
“Im pretty sure the same folks will find something wrong with the next republican candidate, something like they have a cat for a pet or maybe they will be Catholic, and end up putting Clinton in.”
Oh sure those are totally valid comparisons. Because being a pro-choice, gay friendly, tax and spend liberal is as trivial as owning a cat.
“Romney didnt want to win then, and he doesnt deserve a second chance.”
100% agree. RINOs cannot win elections.
Yes, it was a no-brainer for those of us who FINALLY figured out the old "Head I win, tails you lose" hustle, and that's why Romney lost, thank God. Had he won, he would right now be using the Republican Party to push the Democrat agenda from nationalized health care and on-demand abortion, to the environmentalist agenda and homosexual "adoption" and marriage. YOU CAN LOOK IT UP, gipper.
And had that bastard Romney won in the "no brain" 2012 contest you prattle about, would YOU be here being accountable for what you voted FOR? Not hardly! You'd be whining and whimpering "B-b-b-but, I didn't vote for thaa-aat, I was voting against Obama! Wah! Wahhhh!!!!" as the Republicans forced all this amoral tyrannical crap down America's throat, crap that YOU VOTED FOR when you voted "against" Obama.
On the other hand, if you mean it was a "no brainer" choice between Romney and Obama ... you got the no-brain part right, but that's about it.
Your screen name is totally wrong. It should be "Will Vote for Leftist Tyrants."
The incredibly bizarre story of Romney and the dog was true, just as it was true that Romney went back to being pro abortion and kept his 20 year call for homosexual Scout leaders after he won the nomination that he fought for, for 7 years.
There is a reason that Romney has won a single (under 50%) election in his entire 22 years of running for office, and why he couldn’t win reelection and was ushered out of that office with 34% approval.
Wrong, Cooper. You intended to vote against Obama. In action, you did only ONE THING -- you voted FOR Romney.
As long as you confuse intent with action, you will be chasing unicorns with your vote and you will be manipulated by leftists cashing in on your well-intentioned wishful thinking.
It took me almost THIRTY YEARS of voting "against" Democrats by voting straight Republican ticket, to figure it out. Voting "against" is a comforting emotional illusion.
For the love of God, STOP thinking in terms of voting "against." START thinking in terms of voting FOR. When I see two leftists such as Romney and Obama vying for the presidential office, I will vote FOR weakening the popular mandate of whichever leftist bastard wins, and that is exactly what my third-party vote did.
YOUR vote "against" Obama strengthened the mandate to increase leftism in the Republican party, and had Romney won, it would have strengthened his popular mandate.
The ONLY thing that counts is what you vote FOR.
Your 3rd party vote returned the Kenyan Messiah to the White House. Nice.
You make the obvious mistake of assuming that conservatives somehow are obligated to vote for any old leftist piece of shit (spelling it out sometimes seems necessary) that uses Wall Street $$$$$ to BUY the GOP POTUS nomination. Actual conservatives don't share that assumption. My vote is my vote. Your vote is yours. We can argue at leisure after casting our respective votes as to whose votes demonstrates conservatism.
I do not vote for baby-killers. Romney is and always has been an enthusiastic baby-killer because his mommy and daddy were and, because he had this cousin who died of a botched illegal abortion in 1962, AND because Myth actually serviced abortion mills by creating a corporation to dispose of the dismembered tortured little corpses. To you and the late Barry Goldwater that may seem to be "conservative." I beg to differ.
I do not vote for gun grabbers. I do not vote for supporters of the "gay" agenda. I do not vote for those who would expand government control over a full one sixth of the US economy; i.e. our medical care system (and Romneycare was even MORE radical than Obozocare). I do not vote for candidates who support further carving up the nation's economy among the Wall Street powers that be at the expense of the largely unemployed American people. I do not vote for candidates embracing a limp-wristed foreign policy. I do not vote for candidates who dream of satisfying the global climate change and envirowhacko nutcases. These are a few examples that obviously mark the boundaries between thee and me (and I suspect Finny as well) and an increasing number of FReepers and other actual conservatives. Romney can be counted on to be on the wrong side of each and every cited issue. If you vote FOR the sorry likes of Romney, you take your piece of the responsibility for his Demonrat in GOP drag act.
A vote (in my case) for a third party candidate like FR's own Eternal Vigilance is exactly that. It is no more a vote for Obozo (or in 2016 for the Arkansas Medusa) than it is a vote for Myth Romney. As Finny points out, you vote FOR not against. You are apparently willing to vote FOR Myth Romney. I am not. Nor will I urge others to vote for Myth Romney when I will not vote for the POS myself. It should seem self-evident that no actual conservative will EVER vote for unmitigated leftist trash like Obozo, Myth Romney or the Arkansas Medusa.
Well played, sir. Well played.
