Some healthcare experts have criticized the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for saying that a "protocol breach" was responsible for the infection of a Dallas nurse with the Ebola virus, claming that the description scapegoats the nurse in a case that shows how unprepared nursing staffs are for dealing with a potential outbreak.
Texas and CDC officials say that the nurse was wearing the recommended personal protective gear for handling an Ebola patient, including a gown, gloves, mask, and eye shield. However, one expert told Reuters that gear only offers a minimum amount of protection, especially when the disease enters its final phases.
Sean Kaufman, president of an Atlanta-based firm that helps train hospital staff said that caregivers may need to add more layers of protection in the patient's final days, such as double gloves, a respirator, or even a full bodysuit.

Does the hospital need a way to disinfect a full body suit before anything is removed? How many hospitals have that kind of capability?

When I see Frieden talking on TV I’m reminded of the Audi commercial where everybody is reading from a script.

This question was asked and the answer is NO, she did not see the patient when he first went to the hospital.
The article uses the word “bristling”. I think it is past time for “furious” to become the norm. Furious that Obama allows these disease carriers to come into the United States. Does ANYONE with at least a room temperature IQ doubt that a diseased traveler will slip through. And that one traveler can spread something that will get totally out of control. It is INEVITABLE. Obama’s decision has already condemned the nurse to an undeserved nightmare or death. She was only trustingly doing her job; how many other health care workers will, understandably, balk.

I have heard people say that “if you smell body fluids, you can absorb virus”. I don’t know for sure if that it literally true — but have you ever smelled a sweaty person on the subway? Virus, virus, virus.
This kind of stuff is why we have “truthers”. JFK Death truthers, “Moonwalk” truthers, 9-11 truthers, et al.

Someone was discussing this yesterday on FR. They mentioned that the usual way is to attach a trailer outside of the wing where patient is being treated and the decontamination can take place.

I see the Dallas hospital has closed won their Emergency Room for staffing problems. All of these people they are tying up are apparently emergency techs. All of the techs in that hospital are now in quarantine.
We would have been better off if Obama had allowed it to stay in Africa. He wanted to spread it all over the world ... and has.

It's an interesting statement and it makes sense, EXCEPT it is INCORRECT.
The CDC website specifically addressing ebola does NOT say what you claim they did.
CDC: Ebola Virus Disease: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
•All persons entering the patient room should wear at least: ◦Gloves
◦Gown (fluid resistant or impermeable)
◦Eye protection (goggles or face shield)
◦Facemask
I believe that information is incorrect, as stated.
Fomites can exist and survive on hard surfaces for up to 5 days, depending on temperature, humidity and UV exposure.
Fortunately, the proteins on the surface of the virus is attracted to bleach, which will kill the virus.
Effective viricide using bleach is a ratio of 10 parts water to 1 part bleach (10 /1).
