In a new op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, Republican strategist Karl Rove warns the GOP that should they make big gains in the November midterm elections, they should focus on passing legislation rather than score-settling with President Barack Obama.
Rove writes that he anticipates Obama to reject bills sent to him from a Republican Congress but that Obama deserves the chance to show hes matured as a leader and has the energy to govern.
From the op-ed:
Mr. Obama is not the only person who must decide how to proceed. Whatever path the president chooses, Republicans must settle on a course, too. They should understand that, while it is insane to assume good faith from Mr. Obama, they should not make score-settling with the administration their priority.
Voters want Republicans to restrain Mr. Obama from further bad actions and oversee, and in some cases investigate, misdeeds and gross mismanagement. Even more, however, they want Republicans to tackle the problems facing Americans, especially middle-class Americans. This means the GOP should start with measures to strengthen the economy and help job creation.
More GOP-e “power-sharing.”
Hey Rove, you were REPLACED 6 years ago.
Please go back to your room and pontificate to the four walls.
He’s too chicken to come right out and say he’s OK with Obamacare, homesexual marriage, Ben Gazzi, open borders, etc. Let’s just hug and sing kumbaya. There, now don’t we all feel better?
Shut up, Karl. Last time I checked, you’re only ‘one’ of the people....you seem to think you’re a dictator. That makes you no better than Obama.
He’s a creation of the Bushes, so of course he is.
The perfect acronym.
Time for the fat man with diarrhea of the mouth, whose time has come and gone to, well...
Be permanently gone!
Undoing the damage of the last 6 years WILL BE DEEMED "SCORE SETTLING" BY THE MARXIST WHINERS AND SCREAMERS, you senile moron; Whether it is intended that way or not.
Every bad decision by the First Megalomaniac that MUST be undone qualifies.
HERETIC!
The ONLY thing that matters is an R beside the name of the traitors who finish burying our republic. The GOPe must win the Senate to continue Rove’s fundamental transformation of the GOP Party and help speed the decline of our country.
Get with the program: Vote only for RINOS! Party loyalty is more important than some pesky principles that only a few bitter clingers even remember...
Rove’s real message:
“We aren’t going to change anything. In fact, we are more or less happy with the direction. We just want our guys to be in a position to cash in. If you are voting for a course correction, please stop laboring under that expectation.”
We need people to stand in front of the REAL American people and say, on TV, “WE will treat you just exactly like you have treated us. Nothing more, nothing less.”
cConnell held ALL the Republican Senators together to vote AGAINST OBAMACARE!!! He deserves credit for that.....some of them were SQUISHY!
You make it sound as though Mitch stopped a movie style cattle stampede! Sort of proof the GOP-e has to go if they were ALL rushing to vote for Obamacare.
Best laugh I've had today.
do anything... Means just die?
I believe the term is "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" - the reach around party is at it again.
FOAD you POS. Slam his worthless ass and his party to the ground wherever possible and grind them to dust. Take no prisoners, give no quarter.
Shut up, you fat sissy. There is real doubt in conservatives’ minds that there will be a GOP Senate with losers such as you in charge of the campaign apparatus.
By the time a million or so are infected, it will be the least of our problems, because of the guaranteed domestic ongoing shooting war.
I wonder if Canada is willing to give refugee status to all the criminal millionaire federal and state legislators attempting to evade and escape retribution?
That’s his idiotic opinion.
Then we have to make sure we don't nominate anybody "controversial" to be president because that would make our friends on the other side of the aisle, you know, mad at us. And we definitely don't want that. So let's nominate a milquetoast "go along to get along" type guy who has some appeal with the moderates and for goodness sake, let's not take any controversial positions on hot-button topics like abortion, immigration, socialized health care, homosexual marriage, taxes and whatnot.
Let's have EBT cards for all, establish a $100/hr minimum "living" wage, publicly fund third trimester abortions and let's make it possible for humans to marry feral animals. Now that's a winning strategy that will keep us in the good graces of our political opponents.
Unless only liberals get infected, nothing will change.
Madness.
