WASHINGTON A Marine quick reaction force based in Spain will inject a shot of airlift capability into U.S. efforts to fight an Ebola outbreak in West Africa, the Pentagon said Wednesday.
The 100 Marines and sailors from the Special Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response Africa, based in Morón, Spain, were scheduled to pass through Senegal late Wednesday and land Thursday in Monrovia, the Liberian capital.
Some 3,200 soldiers will arrive in Liberia late this month to set up treatment centers and help with logistics in the fight against the deadly virus, but the small, fast-moving team of Marines can fulfill some of the most pressing needs in the meantime.
The task force will arrive with four MV-22 Osprey aircraft capable of vertical takeoff and landings, and 2 KC-130 tanker aircraft that are capable of carrying supplies and personnel to remote runways, Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby said.

Fighting Ebola ,another Democrat made up pile of crap
I am so sorry for the parents of these young men an women.
.
- Barack Hussein Ebola (junior) is creating lifelong loyal Republicans, Conservatives, and Libertarians by sending thousands of our brave men and women soldiers to the deadly hot zones in Afreaka,
- Their families and friends must remember that Obama has put their boots on the ground yet refuses to ban travel from and too the infected areas by commercial airliners - yet the UK and France has.
.
treatment centers = death management centers
I was thinking that maybe this explains that “ 4% and we are screwed” comment by Major Garrett the other day. Perhaps he was told they anticipate that maybe 4% of the troops may catch Ebola over there.
If that were to be the case, he is right, Democrats will be screwed.
I wrote an email to Sen Cruz regarding my idea of introducing a bill guaranteeing combat pay for US troops engaged in anti-Ebola efforts on foreign soil. Some number of dozens of them are gonna die and if they are Ft. Hooded it would be a brand new level of travesty.
