As recently as two weeks ago, I seem to recall the number of doctors and nurses already counted among the dead was already over 80. Since then, some may have read of strike threats, anger over death benefits, etc. I have not read of a new tally that specific cited since, though all general tallies are qualified now by the admission that all official tallies are drastically incomplete.
I hope our military uses some common sense and takes far more precautions than the UN.
Meanwhile Obola is sending US troops to Ebolaland.
I wonder who the first US soldier will be to contract Obola?
the following puts the figure at over 240 health care workers dead:

http://www.who.int/csr/disease/ebola/situation-reports/en/ - follow October 8, 2014 Update link.
401 health care workers known infected, and 232 known dead from Ebola this year. This does not appear to include Spain.
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
