not really possible to be totally protected except maybe in a biohazard level IV environment and we only have 19 beds at that level in the whole US. I doubt that they have any in Liberia.

Regular grunt units in the Corps go through NBC training as part of deployments and even twenty years ago had some good equipment. The only thing to hope for is the unit(s) being deployed are the highly trained NBC units supported by well trained BLT’s in support of security. I really feel sorry for the guys and gals in the field, that gear they will need to wear is freaking miserable in the coolest of conditions not to mention getting in and out of that gear is a very long exercise, very messy and very burdensome to keep maintained.
