Republican Party has in years past been fairly aggressive when it comes to rebuking liberal Republicans like U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham.
Thats about to change, though
This week, a seismic shift within the party took place as a key opponent of Graham was ousted from the organization. Former executive committeeman Bill Rhodes was unceremoniously booted from the Greenville GOP for disloyalty namely refusing to support Grahams candidacy. Two other executive committee members resigned from the party in protest of the way Rhodes was treated.
Meanwhile another local Republican committeeman Joshua Cook was threatened with removal from his post because he interviewed a non-Republican for a political website.
Sheesh is this middle school?
Its definitely a purge of executive committeemen who support limited government, one anti-Graham advocate told FITS.
So now that we know who is getting the boot who is the new Greenville GOP inviting to take the place of these limited government advocates?
Those removed have mostly been replaced by Bob Jones-affiliated people or Bob Jones students, one of our sources says.
Well, well Bob Jones.
We decided years ago that we wanted absolutely nothing to do with the Republican Party
at any level. Thats because at every level, the GOP is ideologically indistinguishable from the party it claims to be fighting. Obviously we respect those who are trying to reform the GOP from within in the hopes of turning it into a limited government, individual liberty party
but this local purge is further evidence of the party establishments refusal to hear such arguments.

Those purged should turn right around, contact their biggest “limited government” contributors and form The Conservative Party.
Well, if Constitutional conservatives are booted out of Upstate SC GOP organizations...
The end is near for that branch of party elitists to remain separate from the Columbia Dems.
You FReepers in Greenville might want to do a little reconnaissance on the GOPe there...to see what’s shakin’.
All politics is local, or so Tipp O’neill said......................
Ya stand a better chance fighting the enemy you know in front of you than the enemy you don't know behind you.
According to the Heritage Foundation’s scorecard - http://www.heritageactionscorecard.com//state/state/sc
Senator Tim Scott - 85%
Miss Lindsey Graham - 49%
The Democrat Party reasserts its control over the local Republican Division.
Part of the job of being a GOP committeeman is supporting the GOP ticket, even the stinkers. If you can’t do the job, step aside and let someone else do it.

As long as that applies across the board, and moderate chairmen have to bite the bullet and support conservative nominees. Look at the 100 moderate republicans who’ve endorsed the democrats in Kansas. Seems it’s only conservatives that get “purged.”
How many get booted for not supporting Ted Cruz or Cuccinelli? Oh wait, the entire establishment opposes them
They can better align themselves with the GOPers in Massataxes I guess.
That never happens when the nominee is a real conservative.

I think they only endorsed one Democrat and that is the Dem running against Gov. Brownback. They left Pat Roberts alone. (What does that tell you?)
These displaced Republicans don’t have to vote for Graham’s Dem opponent, Mr. Hutto. They have an Independent running named Thomas Ravenel if you don’t want to vote for the fairy RINO.
