Just in case you missed it: Rounds-(R) support falls to 35% in SD Senate Race
Public Policy Polling ^ | October 2, 2014 | No Dems

Posted on 10/05/2014 1:29:25 AM PDT by Din Maker

Shocker: The GOP candidate in SD Senate race is only polling at 35% in a four man race.

It has been a "given" that SD, along with WV and MT, was "in the bag" for the GOP so, I have not followed the SD Senate Race. I had to do a Google Search to find out which dude in the poll was the Pubbie and which one was the Dem. Come to find out, there is a former GOP Senator, Larry Pressler, running as an Independent(24%) and another guy, Gordon Howie (another former GOP office holder) running as a Conservative Independent (8%) and the Dem (28%) if my memory serves me correctly. Now, if either Pressler or Howie drop out or start falling in the polls, who will reap their votes; the Pubbie or the Dem? Who knows?

I do know this: The GOP candidate, Mike Rounds has an unfavorable rating of 51%. If the GOP messes around and loses SD.... Turn out the lights, the party's over.

“Three republicans splitting the vote, against one democrat - why does that sound like a plan. I wonder whether the two extra republicans are being paid generously for their betrayal, or are they just being played by a plant with flattering words?”

They usually pull this in the primaries to make sure the conservative vote is diluted, so they can't win.

I remember Karl Rowe and how disgusting he was win his candidate didn't win. He was basically supporting the Dem because Castle didn't win. Rowe went after Christine O’ Donnell and repeated all the lies told about her. Many of these lies were proven false later. She may not have been the ideal candidate, but the establishment RINOs made sure she couldn't win.

Regarding libertarians, it is for the Republicans to appeal sufficiently to libertarians, social conservatives and security conservatives to prevent wholesale defections to the other party or to third-parties, or stay at home. I admit, it’s a bit of a trick. The establishment Republicans did not help us this year with their tactics in Mississippi. A certain amount of incumbent-protection is acceptable, but not adopting a Democratic get-out-the-vote effort. At this time, we have to consider the future of the country, and the fact that we will eventually replace Thad Cochran and Pat Roberts.

“Why are Republicans so stupid? Bill Clinton would not have been President had it not been for Ross Perot. The Left gains their power from the division of the Right.”

When the right joins with the left, they lose. Amnesty, Spending, Obamacare (RomneyCare), etc...

That will really fix those American Patriots who love their country and constitution. I think the Austrians did something similar in 1938.

PPP (Piss Poor Polling) is a democratic push poll that is often biased toward their candidate on the average of 10-20%.

Looks like the dims are trying the "reverse bandwagon" approach. In any case, this Obola scandal, and yes it is a Obama scandal, will easily give the GOP the senate.

No matter how the dims try to spin this, it is a porous borders issue, and it will hurt them.

Can’t say I’m shocked as this is the GOPe we’re talking about here. But I am a bit surprised.

In any event, the GOPe will NOT take the Senate and even if I am wrong (yes my dear wife, you are correct, I am from time to time lol) the Dim slaughter of the GOPe in 2016 will be one for the books.

And yes, we Freepers can be a bit wise from time to time. hehe

Pressler, who held the senate seat until 1997, lost to Johnson in the 1996 election. So 18 years later and at age 71, Pressler wants “his seat” back. Another defeated candidate feels entitled to the seat and runs against
a sitting Republican incumbent. I am curious to know who is funding Pressler’s campaigns. If one digs deep enough, he or she will find Rat money.

I can just see people (of the Rat persuasion) feeding Pressler’s ego and encouraging him to run for his old seat. Not that they really want him to be elected, but rather to split the vote.

I don't know why the GOP is so stupid, but Ross Perot didn't strike me as a Republican. He was a wild card.

.

I understand your frustration with my viewpoint.

Voting for Romney in 2012 was extremely nauseating, given that I worked like hell for the Gingrich campaign.

Call it what you may, but my "admittedly lame" rationalization for the 2012 Romney vote was that even though Obama and Romney are (indeed) pro-abortion AND pro-gay marriage ...

that Romney was a bit less (abortion) murderous than Obama ...

and that "even if a single baby's life could be THEORETICALLY saved" ...

that I was morally compelled to vote for Romney.

Now, let's flash forward to a ficticious 2014 ...

where Romney was elected POTUS in 2012 ...

the GOP "magically" won both the U.S. House and Senate in 2012.

Where exactly would we stand today, BilLies ?

President Romney, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Speaker of the House John Boehner would have (by now):

1) SIGNED INTO LAW "Illegal Amnesty" for 25 MILLION Mexicans

2) NEVER repealed "ObamaCare", simply tweaked ObamaCare by adding another ten billion (or so) to make it "better"

3) Encouraged the BLM-EPA to continue "shredding the constitution" over private property rights

4) GIVEN Bain Capital and JP Morgan (et al) another TRILLION DOLLARS in Wall Street bail-outs

5) COVERTLY directed the IRS to "carpet bomb" the Tea Party and websites like Free Republic

So, what POLITICAL alternative have Karl Rove, and the despicable Haley Barbour given "me" in 2014 ?

If I were a Mississippi citizen, I could PROVE in FEDERAL COURT that both these (above) scumbags ...

deprived me of Civil Rights with the election fraud they perpetrated with Thad Cochran.

What do we do NOW ????

In my humble opinion, Karl Rove would be working for Hillary, Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi ... in 2014 ...

had they offered more $$$$$ than the Bush Family back in 2000.

BilLies ... you know that I "speak the truth".

The "Green Party" ?

Rahm Emanuel and Valerie Jarrett threatened them with "napalm" if the Green Party ran a single candidate between 2012 and 2020.

I must disagree. Short of a physical and real revolution. the incompetent in the White House today has two years plus, to turn over the land between the Atlantic Ocean and ,through, Indonesia to the Muslims and will be turning over the rest of the world to China and Putin.

And on our side it would be Mitch McConnell doing the telling, so we know that won't be happening. That would be showing leadership.

Prolly so. Those in leadership in the GOP hierarchy need to grow a pair.

There is no “Republican incumbent”. The SD Senate seat is an open seat; as is MT and WV.

Yes Patton, you spoke the truth. Especially when you said:

“If I were a Mississippi citizen, I could PROVE in FEDERAL COURT that both these (above) scumbags ... deprived me of Civil Rights with the election fraud they perpetrated with Thad Cochran. “

That is exactly right. They disenfranchised the votes of 150,000 true Conservatives.
