WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States has seen six cases of the Ebola virus in recent weeks affecting five Americans and a Liberian.
Two of the cases surfaced this week, raising concerns about wider spread of the disease, which has killed at least 3,439 people in the current outbreak in West Africa.
All of the Americans contracted the disease while in West Africa and were diagnosed there before returning home for treatment. The Liberian fell ill and tested positive during a visit to Dallas.
Below are details on the six U.S. cases so far

Typhoid Barry strikes again!
And we’re off! Yee haw! It’s Ebola time!
Washington (AFP) - The US military expects to increase the number of troops deployed to Liberia to fight the Ebola outbreak to nearly 4,000, up from a planned 3,000-strong force, the Pentagon said Friday

Bring Out Your Dead
Were gonna need
a bigger cart!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Corrupt reporting. These are all Americans who got in West Africa and were brought back here for treatment.
They’re not Americans who got it here. Yet. But that will happen soon with Obama’s policies.
Is he deaf? The number should be over 15,000 in a lawless nation of millions. Is it still in proposal, because that’s poor action if it is.
...The incubation period for the Ebola virus allowed an infected patient to fly from Liberia to the U.S. and past public health officials who checked his temperature and accurately determined he did not have a fever
...Symptoms, however, may take up to 21 days after a person has been infected to show up
Oh, for sure they know the doctor in Bethesda has it. He had been keeping himself at home and was taking his temperature twice daily but on Saturday (not Sunday) was admitted to Bethesda. So, what changed in his temperature and health that has caused him to be in Level 4 care for a week and it’s all been hush hush? Ingrown toe nail? The common cold?
“........which has killed at least 3,439 people in the current outbreak....”
This virus outbreak is killing more people than Pearl Harbor, WTC, and other World catastrophe’s, but we aren’t to be concerned, and take steps to protect ourselves by shutting out transients from those countries effected!?
Is this A-hole trying to get impeached to buffer support at this time for reelection of Democrats? Is he this political? YES HE IS.
Ok, Reuters, iow, he contracted it inside the US. As in Ebola is wandering the streets of Dallas. And we can rest assured Reuters is tracking it down. With a little luck, Ebola Mary will be Nichole and Ron's killer giving us a two-fer.
Wait until it comes time for those 4,000 to come back home
Then we will see how prepared the hospitals and nurses are perpared when there are lines of patients waiting in the corridor.
With this administration :Agenda superceeds COMMON SENSE !
That is my issue with the administration, it's not about the troops, or Ebola
It's about the violation of 'oath of office' to protect the American people, and putting them at senseless risk !!
How are the troops expected to “fight” ebola? Hand-to-hand combat?
“Corrupt reporting. These are all Americans who got in West Africa and were brought back here for treatment.”
It says exactly that in the third sentence. Reporters don’t write the headlines.
there has been TWO confirmed in the US?
i know the one in dallas... which is the other one? in washdc, texas, or hawaii?
My point was that the others weren’t Americans.
It’s true that reporters don’t write the headlines, though, and I probably should have said corrupt journalism.
