They keep telling us that they know how to handle it. They talk about quarantine, isolation, contact tracing, and personal protection, but yet allow people to stream out and into the USA. And a CNA who was in contact is free to work in a nursing home, but his family has to be quarantined. So he's would be allowed to come and go daily.
That doesn't seem like isolation or quarantine to me. Additionally, the screening measures are not particularly comforting. A questionnaire, and temperature, both of which can be easily circumvented by lying and taking Tylenol.
Plus the test for Ebola is not always accurate initially. I have read several articles where people in the region tested negative, were released and sent home, and a few days later were back in worse condition and testing positive.
Dr. Brantly’s first test was negative, but they continued to quarantine him and his 72 hr test came back positive. So when I hear these reports in the news, immediately stating it is not Ebola, and releasing people, it makes me more even more nervous.
I would feel better, if they said something like it doesn't appear to be Ebola, but we are taking precautions, and will be performing further tests. But that's just me. Others may not feel the same way.
he’s = he
It obviously takes some time for the virus to be detected. I don’t know how much and I don’t think they do..so they use different levels of concern to create different levels of observation to full quarantine.
But that’s for a potential contact.
As for incoming people from the affected area..You just don’t know...and yes people lie every day.
That is why we created Ellis island..
My grandparents came through there...They never talked about it...not once..
