Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Friday called on the Obama administration to impose a travel ban on flights coming to the U.S. from countries with Ebola outbreaks.
We should stop accepting flights from countries that are Ebola stricken, the Republican governor said in a statement.
President Obama said it was unlikely that Ebola would reach the U.S. Well, it has, and we need to protect our people, he added. But the Obama administration keeps saying they wont shut down flights. They instead say we should listen to the experts. In fact, they said it would be counterproductive to stop these flights. That statement defies logic. How exactly would stopping the entry of people potentially carrying the Ebola virus be counterproductive? This seems to be an obvious step to protect public health in the United States.
Jindal becomes one of the most prominent voices calling for a travel ban, which the Centers for Disease Control and some public health experts have said is either misguided or impractical, or both. Earlier Friday, CDC Director Tom Frieden appeared on the morning talk shows to argue that a travel ban would likely backfire and make it harder for health officials to fully root out the virus.
Even if we tried to close the border, it wouldnt work, the director said on MSNBC. People have a right to return. People transiting through could come in. And it would backfire, because by isolating these countries, itll make it harder to help them, it will spread more there and wed be more likely to be exposed here.
Frieden added that the only way to completely eliminate Americans risk to Ebola is to stop the virus at the source meaning West Africa.

Frieden (CDC's main fool) is talking about a travel ban.
Two completely different things.
IMHO, it is just common sense to stop people from those countries from coming to the US. On the other hand, if there are people in the US that want to go help, more power, and airline flights, to them.
Obama does have a phone and a pen.
it is just common sense to stop people from those countries from coming to the US
the form of thought formerly referred to as “common sense” is in very short supply and nearly extinct in Washington D.C.
To stop it from spreading to other countries, a total travel ban from ebola countries is needed to protect other countries.
Common sense is rampant here: one of the joys of posting on FR.
President “Opposite Day” never seems to stop finding ways to screw us all.
Indeed, this is one of the very few places on the interweb where common sense exists in any measurable quantity

This is only ignorant reasonings that they feed to the unformed and they do so because it works for this president’s political strategies. There are lies being told by Obama’s CDC about how Ebola can spread. Read it on the web from a variety of medical web sites. Find out where the patent came from of this form of this engineered virus.

I hope that includes travel ban in and out of Dallas.
Now, THAT is a leader.
Could not agree with Jindal more. We should immediately ban anyone from western Africa until at minimum October 2015 unless they arrive under very strict medical supervision and isolation for Ebola treatments in special US hospitals.
Cool.
How disingenous this administration is.
Of course medical flights could still take place under a commercial flight ban.
PC is as deadly as the things won’t face. In the case of Ebola that’s quite deadly.
Is it too much to expect the Center for Disease Control to actually make a sensible effort to control the spread of deadly diseases? Dogs, cats and horses are routinely quarantined. Apparently the public health is considered a lesser priority than that of animals by the Obola administration. Frieden is nothing but a shill for Obola's open border scheme. His medical license ought to be suspended.
And since we’re now am Ebola country, that means us too. But they better not try to stop ME from traveling!
Bobby, you can do it as Louisiana is sovereign on its soil and you are the Governor.
Get balls and act.
The feds if they try to stop you will make the Bundy standoff look like a tiny event.
Those Cajuns have guns, and there are a lot of them who do not like not being protected.
A travel ban is the only way to go.
Now we have an NBC cameraman ; the whole crew being flown back by private jet on Sunday.
Where will they land? The patient is going to a hospital in Nebraska.
Will they drop Nancy Snyderman off at the NBC studios in NYC to give her report?
Snyderman tweets that she takes her temp every half hour.
Scary!
