Voting for Cruz would do both.

If the GOPe wanted to, they could very easily get their base behind Cruz. And probably win! They don’t want to.

Go Ted. I want vote for anyone else. Screw all y’all if you don’t like it. I’m done playin’ with these fools. We need a strong conservative to reclaim the White Hut and make it that shining example once more. I want my world back.

One of the more interesting realizations I’ve recently had about this issue, is this:

If a staunch conservative were to capture the nomination, virtually 100% of registered Republicans would give them their vote.

If another RINO wins the nomination, they might draw 80% of the same vote.

Knowing that this is the undeniable, immutable truth of the eventual outcome, WHY do the GOP-e and their apologists continue to insist upon paving the way forward for another Democrat-Lite candidate?

Are they determined to lose to the Dems again?

Well, the Republican Establishment types have a track record by which they can be judged.

Post-Eisenhower, there have only been two legitimate conservative nominees.

- Goldwater was thrown under the bus.

- They only played ball with Reagan AFTER he agreed to allow their preferred candidate (GHWBush) to join the ticket.

It’s already been demonstrated that they are willing to lose an election rather than allow a conservative to run things.

There’s a common error that often crops up in the quest for an open discussion. It’s the framing of the debate. If you’re not careful, you concede too much to your opponent before the discussion even begins.

For instance, since when is Karl Rove a Democrat Lite?

Why even debate if he’s Democrat Lite or not?

Simply discuss his far Left of center actions, and the fact that he belongs in the Democrat party, not in any body related to Conservatism.

This guy is a full blown Democrat. He and his supporters won’t admit it, but the guy has short circuited far more Conservative candidates and Conservative policies than any of today’s leading Democrats.

Why? Because he was in a position to disarm the rank and file Conservatives, and destroy their ability to coalesce around sound people and policies.

Rove is probably the biggest enemy of Conservatism there is today. Yes, I’m serious.

Look at the schedule: Iowa, New Hampshire, Colorado, Minnesota, New York, Utah, Nevada.

How about if Ted doesn't have 45% at that point he drops out?

Of course the Carolinas come next, but Ted may take some time to get up to speed.

Also, what about the "natural born" crowd? How many percentage points will Ted Cruz's birthplace lose him?

It’s already been established in previous cycles that if a conservative is winning a primary, the GOPe will withdraw monetary support and withhold endorsements. They basically become an anchor around the neck of their frontrunner.

Thus, the GOPe enables a race where the MSM favorably reports about the Party D candidate unreservedly while Party R foot-drags to indirectly undermine their own.
