There are plenty of people on the far left who are aware of what's going on in Iraq and do know who Panetta is.

These anti war people are already disenchanted with Obama (reference Michael Moore's recent comments) and this is one more reason to deflate their spirits.

Panetta could have saved his comments until after the election. But he is blantantly blaming Obama now instead. I find that amazing.

He will probably get more buzz and sell more books right before the election. His publisher may have had a hand in the timing, for that profit motive.

Also, Panetta was a long time Clintonista, so this may be part of Hillary’s campaign, to use Obama as the fall guy for the failure of their shared liberal policies.

This is not just a mistake. It is a screw up of epic proportion. Thousands have died, and many more will die because of this "mistake". Women have been raped; women have been sold into slavery. Children have been crucified. Christians have been slaughtered.
