I have some really stupid questions and maybe a FReeper can answer them. How can the apartment be decontaminated? Wouldn’t the normal disinfection process, a 10%solution of chlorine is used (I think for Ebola in Africa), damage the walls and floors? Wouldn’t there also be the possibility of the decontamination solutions used spreading to the other apartments in the same building? If it is so difficult to become infected, why were the custodial staff members of one DISD (Dallas Independent School District) cleaning one of the affected schools wearing haz mat suits, complete with gloves, boots and goggles?

Just some jumbled questions I had running through my head today.

The game of Ebola Roulette continues...

*click* spin *click* spin *click* spin…BANG!

Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!

Bring Out Your Dead

We’re gonna need

a bigger cart!

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

“It is reported that Duncan was vomiting “wildly” outside the apartment complex. Who cleaned up the vomit? Does the family have their own washer/dryer or do they go to a laundromat? What about garbage pick-up? And what about when the family went grocery shopping (touching all those vegies)? President Obola screwed us big time.”

Funny thing is, no one from the gov’t is doing this, at least from what I can tell from the photos. I had the EPA on my ass over a silt fence once and they seem to be okay with 3rd world clean up here. Nothing like Ebola water going down the storm drain or having a near by passer by just having a day at the beach in her sandals.

...”There are not even enough beds in the ERs now.”....

I have a close family member who worked in Trauma up til recently. She often spoke about the system of who is seen first, they have a grading system that rates the degree of illness or problem.

Unfortunately people come in and automatically think it’s a matter of who’s next based on first come first served. This creates a lot of havoc when they’re overcrowded...as people think they should be next.

She also agrees with what you stated....most of the people there have illnesses that could be easily seen by a pyhsician...but the people from out of country see the Hospital as a “Clinic” where you get medicine if your sick...therefore the overcrowding is frequent.

Just got home but I read on CNN during work break that the Liberian state said he lied on the forms and if survives might be prosecuted. It appears justs as I thought....he knew and he came here for “better” treatment.

obama - the gift that keeps on giving ...

His State Department’s policy of allowing visas to be granted to citizens of West African countries in light of the raging Ebloa epidemic is beyond irrationality. Especially when their record of visa overstay is very high ... So a man takes a Ebola infected woman to a Liberian hospital - she soon dies of Ebloa... He is exposed to the deadly disease and knows it ... he quits his job - likely used their credit card to charge is airline ticket - lies to Liberian authorities about exposure, then off on a convoluted journey to Dallas, Texas, USA... Shows up sick at a local hospital — then misdiagnosed - goes home - gets sicker - goes back to the hospital spreads bodily fluids everywhere in and outside the apartment, on the sidewalk, in the ambulance, in the emergency room all done TWICE... No HAZMAT clean up done anywhere, ambulance reused for at least 2 days, some guy with no protective clothing is pictured using a pressure washer outside the apartment to clean it up, another guy is seen with no protective clothing handing a bag of food through the door of the man’s family... the family ordered to stay in their apartment (instead of being isolated in a confinement facility) - family shows signs they won’t faithfully obey the order to stay at home - so police guards are ordered to keep them there....

And obama says via his press secretary he thinks medical experts will handle all this,,, correctly. SURE YEAH - RIGHT — just like they did this time ... FOOLS total FOOLS.... and obama is the BIGGEST fool with a Death Wish — but not for him - FOR US!!!

AND NOW: TA DA ..... !!!!

White House: We Won’t Stop People From Ebola-Stricken Countries Coming To US

Ebola is at least 50% fatal even when treatment is given... hardly something to sneeze at - pardon the pun.

Thank you for helping others with their naivete and down right ignorance...

Another contributing factor to Flu mortality is that old people - Seniors do not fair well with bouts of flu, lower immunity is presumed and skew the mortality rates to make flu even look worse ... For those who don’t get it — EBOLA does not give a damn how old you are... 50% of the time your dead even if treated... you might have time for 2-4 cigarettes over the time you’re dying but not a whole pack.

Ignorance has a high mortality rate - just too broad a subject to accurately measure...

Dengue Fever is spread by mosquitoes ... hardly a serious contrast or comparison to Ebola... While Dengue Fever - ‘Break Bone’ Fever is serious and makes one very very sick - the mortality rate is not all that high. Plus - we can control Dengue by controlling the mosquito population which the U.S. is very good at when push comes to shove.

To Alter Kaker ... via VRWCarea51...

You mean Alter Kaker ... professional health workers who did this with the Ebola patient:

Liberian mans shows up sick at a Presby hospital — then misdiagnosed by some dumbbutt doctor who has not idea about asking a man with an obvious accent where he is from // and or has not kept up with the Ebola outbreak in West Africa and IGNORES a nurses note about the man’s origin and possible problem - Man goes home - gets sicker - goes back to the hospital spreads bodily fluids everywhere in and outside the apartment, on the sidewalk, in the ambulance, in the emergency room all done TWICE (diarrhea and projectile vomiting) ... No HAZMAT clean up done anywhere, ambulance reused for at least 2 days after, some guy with no protective clothing is pictured using a pressure washer outside the apartment to clean it up, another guy is seen with no protective clothing handing a bag of food through the door of the man’s family... the family ordered to stay in their apartment (instead of being isolated in a confinement facility as they should have been) - shows signs that won’t faithfully obey the order to stay at home - so police guards are ordered to keep them there....

KAKER -— You mean this kind of professional health worker that are used to dealing with plenty of diseases that handled the Ebola situation in Dallas ... ??
