This flu season is already shaping up to be worse than the last.
Because flu season occurs in different time periods around the world, health experts track outbreaks of the virus globally to try and predict how the illness will affect each country before anyone there actually gets sick.
Predicting how bad a particular flu season will be is a tough call. But in many years, flu outbreaks in the southern hemisphere can help foretell the virus' severity in the US. A group of scientists organized by the WHO called the Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS) tracks the virus as it breaks out across the globe. By sharing their findings with one another, they try to predict which types, or strains, of the virus will cause the most sickness in the coming season. The scientists meet twice each year once to assess the flu season for the Southern Hemisphere and once to predict its extent in the Northern Hemisphere.

Went in for my 6 month doctors appointment today and they gave me a flu shot. I have recieved one every year and so far so good.
So, uh, where’s the chart showing that ebola may be especially bad this year? Just wonderin’. One guy says 50-75% of the earth’s population is gonna die, cdc and the lyin’ king say it ain’t comin’ here. Oops. Musta missed that PDB I guess. Just so much crap gettin’ in the way of good tee times.
How many people will get ebola just thinking it is the flu... you know like the guy in Texas...
Because the flu will be mixed up with Ebola symptoms and Ebola will be sent home.
Do they have a chart like this for Ebola?
You got that right I got my flu shot at Walgreens last weekend just low co pay that is
And the hits just keep on a com’n!!!
I don’t get a flu shot any more. Got it once, got the flu. It didn’t even take 3 strikes to convince me.
I picked up a particularly bad strain at Baltimore Washington International airport last February. It really sucked.
Flu season? What about Ebola season?
I got the flu two weeks ago - just need to stop the bleeding now ...
The first three years I took it, it worked like a charm. I was healthier than I’d ever been through a winter.
Then I got a shot and I got sick. And another shot and I got sick. And another.
Five freaking years in a row. So last year, I thought I’d be smart about it and I tried the nasal vaccine.
Got REALLY sick.
I’m done with this crap.
I hear ya!
You bad!
A bit more concerned with Ebola season, Tuberculosis season, and Polio season brought to us courtesy of our open borders folks, to be honest.
Yeah, I had Polio as a child in the 1950s. Not good.
Ebola season might be pretty bad this year too
(I really hope not, but with BO in charge, this could be so bad)
I dont get a flu shot any more. Got it once, got the flu. It didnt even take 3 strikes to convince me.

Happened to me, too, back in the ‘70s. Was sick at home for about three days.
I now get one every year and it’s paid by Medicare. Wal-Mart, Walgreens or Albertson’s.
