The first case of Ebola diagnosed in the U.S. has been confirmed in a man who recently travelled from Liberia to Dallas, sending chills through the area's West African community whose leaders urged caution to prevent spreading the virus...

Stanley Gaye, president of the Liberian Community Association of Dallas-Fort Worth, said the 10,000-strong Liberian population in North Texas is skeptical of the CDC's assurances because Ebola has ravaged their country...

So there's 10,000 Liberians in North Texas. How come we have all these pockets of different nationalities all over the country?

Doesn't look like anyone is integrating into the American way of life anymore.

Jeez! President Monroe shipped these people back to Africa almost 200 years ago...and they just turn around and come right back. What gives?

Huh. Didn’t know that Ebola was ethnic/race specific. So according to the article everyone else should be safe.

It may not be ethnic/race specific, but the second possible case is a family member.

The fact that they sent him home after he told them he was from Liberia tells me we do not have the proper procedures in place to handle this disease.

According to the article linked on Drudge, the sister said he told them he was visiting from Liberia when he was asked for a Social Security number.

CDC officials are helping staff at Monrovia's airport, where passengers are screened for signs of infection, including fever, and asked about their travel history. Plastic buckets filled with chlorinated water for hand-washing are present throughout the airport.

Sure, that'll work.

What? Only Liberians are susceptible to Ebola?

I agree. I only posted it because I was surprised at how many Liberians were in the area.

Or in the US. Years ago immigrants wanted to assimilate - now they want their own mini-country here ...

Biden will spin it as more ‘shovel ready jobs’.

And “ ‘jobs’ is a 3 letter word” .

If you like your imported 3rd world disease, you can keep it.

Uh, I have news for the idiot that wrote the article: at least one person of non-Liberian descent is concerned about this case in Texas.

I blame Obama. Why is ANYONE, of ANY nationality or race, who has been in West Africa within 3 weeks of landing in this country allowed to get out of the airport without being in quarantine? In fact, why are they even allowed on a US-bound plan? Obama could have stopped it, but chose not to...because he is, at best, a horse's ass that simply doesn't understand the germ theory and the horrendous mortality of this disease. Worst case is that he wants massive, society-wide spread of Ebola/Obola, and he should be imprisoned for treason and accessory to murder.

Most immigrant groups when they arrive here live in enclaves of those from the same country. It takes a generation or more for true assimilation.

Just saying, not that unusual.

It perhaps *used* to take a generation.

Today, we no longer teach people how to be Americans. That would require too much teaching of the Constitution, the Revolutionary War, and other facts unpleasant for Leftists.
