Just heard on the radio (WBAP) that a family member of the man with Ebola is now sick with the stuff.

We have been assured that this can not happen in the USA, only in dirt poor African countries. Obviously just a case of eating some bad fish.

And there is a LOT more contact in a family situation than in public places. No comparison, actually.

But then there is the examining room in the ER. A lot of contact there. And the bathroom on the plane and the airport and later at Walmart. A lot of potential contact - flight attendants, other passengers, immigration, TSA, hospital employees, ambulance drivers, on and on.

The CDC will refuse to admit that a full-blown US ebola epidemic is raging through the country until such a time that the public is already fully aware of the obvious situation, and the CDC will seem like the ‘last to know’. Maybe they will try to claim that it was the poor intelligence they received as the reason for their incompetence.

There is something wrong here. A previous story said he came Dallas on Sept. 20th or so and showed symptoms 5 days later, at which time he would be contagious. The incubation period is around 20 days. According to this, there is no way this family member should be showing symptoms now. I’m sceptical that the truth is being told. Its possible that there could be a big problem unfolding here.

I heard on the news this morning that the patient had been in contact with children, probably family members he’s visiting. Are these kids in school? Has the school been notified?

They rely on this guy telling the truth. How do we know he hasn’t been in contact with numerous other people? Or that he wasn’t starting to feel sick on the flight? People lie about such things all the time.

And if Ebola is so “hard to catch” why do the doctors double up on precautions? I recommend the First Family set an example and visit the patient to calm the public’s concerns.
