CDC Confirms Texas Patient is First Case of Ebola Diagnosed in the United States
Breitbart's Big Peace ^ | September 30, 2014 | Frances Martel

A patient in Dallas, Texas has been confirmed by the U.S. Center for Disease Control as the first case of Ebola diagnosed on American soil, reports CNBC.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital had confirmed earlier this week that they had isolated a patient in Dallas who had symptoms and travel history that suggested they could have been exposed to the Ebola virus in a statement, according to local Fox affiliate KDFW. They did not specify the gender of the patient or the specifics of that travel history, but confirmed that federal officials from the CDC were called in, and that results of testing would be expected around 3 PM Central Time on Tuesday.

CNBC confirms that the CDC has found the patient to test positive for the Ebola virus. This is the first case of the virus that has been diagnosed on U.S. soil, though American citizens who were diagnosed with the virus in west Africa have returned for medical attention to the continental United States and recovered.

ABC affiliate WFAA adds that the hospital has announced that the patient is being held in "strict isolation" and that officials believe there is little potential for an outbreak, given the advanced technology available on U.S. soil and the medical infrastructure already in place in a city like Dallas.

The news of an Ebola patient diagnosed on American soil for the first time follows tragic news from the World Health Organization that the rate at which individuals are contracting Ebola in west Africa appears to be accelerating....

“that suggested they could have been exposed to the Ebola virus in a statement, “

Who says words can't hurt you? Must have been a powerful statement to expose him to Ebola.

From City of Dallas Emergency Management:

The City of Dallas has activated their Emergency Operations Center and is on Level 2: High Readiness after receiving confirmation that Dallas has the first diagnosed Ebola case in the nation.

The Dallas Fire Rescue EMS crew that transported the patient Sunday morning took all safety precautions and has been quarantined according to CDC and Dallas County Health guidelines.

The City is working closely with Dallas County Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control after the unnamed patient at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas was confirmed to have the virus at 3:32 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The person moved to Dallas from Liberia a week ago.

As I read stories like this I am reminded of the GW elites that want 90% of the world population to be removed to save the planet. I have to wonder with so many greenie weenies in the government that they are purposely exposing healthy populations to third world diseases.

Over the years I have noticed through my personal interactions that the eco-nuts, the Greenpeacers, the Global warming crowd, the ‘elites’,etc. all have this weird thing going on; where they think that they personally will not be affected by the ill’s and troubles that they wish and desire for the rest of the population.

Personally I have a ‘dream’ to be able to see the looks on their faces when it dawns upon them that they were wrong and they too were in the cross-hairs all of this time.

Um. If they took all necessary precautions - why do they have to be quarantined?

Unlike Emory, Presbyterian Dallas isn’t really set up to deal with situations like this (in fact, they are best known in the community for giving staph infections to surgery patients (unlike Baylor, which infected some folks with rabies a few years ago)).

I would have thought U.T. Southwestern would have been a better bet for having appropriate facilities (and awareness of infection protocols).

A sane country would end travel and immigration into and out of infected ares until things are under control

But we don’t live in a sane country.

And on that day ... ... they will blame Bush.

I am reminded of the Commie intelligentsia, rounded up and executed by Lenin and later Stalin. Standing before their firing squads, they went to their graves denouncing the bourgeois capitalist pigs.

Oh it’s a great feeling to see it. Short version...

Years ago I did a lot of work on BLM/landude issues RE: Off-Roading/OHV use. We fought to keep access open to all.

One of the major mountain bike groups of the time sided with the sierra club and helped ram through yet another closure against the will of the majority. The BLM then posted the area with ‘No mechanical conveyance” signs.

The mountain bikers flipped, pooped a brick and ran to their new best buddies screaming the blues that they were lumped in with evil off roaders. The Sierra Club replied “What did you think we meant? We told you no MECHANICAL. That meant you too.”

I remember feeling really good about that bit of silver lining in the cloud of closure.
