Did the intelligence community underestimate ISIS or did the president?
In his "60 Minutes" interview, President Obama seemed to put the blame on the intelligence community, saying, “I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria.” At the White House daily briefing, Press Secretary Josh Earnest cast the net quite a bit wider.
“Everybody was surprised to see the rapid advance that ISIL was able to make from Syria across the Iraqi border,” said Earnest. “To be able to take over such large swaths of territory in Iraq did come as a surprise.”

But for nearly a year, senior officials in the U.S. government have been warning about the alarming rise of ISIS, or ISIL as the terrorist group is also known, and the inability of the Iraqi government to confront the threat.

I wouldn't be too fast to compliment ABC. They are trying to frame this as a math error by giving Obama's claim credibility that an "underestimate" is at fault. If that doesn't work, they will frame it another way.

Difficult to believe that Obama was ever informed of ISIS, since he never attends his security briefings.
White House must have pressured ABC to remove it. Under headlines, if you click on this story you come back to the wholesome presumably homosexual couple picture. If you click on the other links, you get the story expected.

There is an obvious answer to that question. I have no doubt the intel reports odumbo gets are not being believed, comprehended or worse, not being read. He is way over his head as CIC.
Yeah, Obama didn't know anything about them but had his own special name for them. Sometimes dumb people can't help it; their excuses don't make any sense.
