Time and again, we hear from the Democrats that voter fraud is not an important issue. Despite their ardent insistence, we continue to see people getting arrested for voter fraud, usually from their own party! Today’s news continues that trend. Democratic Connecticut State Representative Christina Ayala has been arrested on 19 counts of voter fraud.

Arrests for various types of election fraud and cheating only represent the metaphorical tip of the iceberg of a very serious national problem. I'm certain that Ms. Ayala, for example, was far from the only person participating in this sort of thing in Connecticut. She could easily have gotten a few Democratic friends to do similar illegal acts and vote multiple times, and so artificially inflate vote totals for Democrat candidates, state and national. Enough artificial votes can swing just about any election that is reasonably close.

It's about time that the RNC comes out with a full-throated endorsement of an a program aimed at minimizing election fraud and cheating throughout the nation! Until Republicans wake up and realize that elections have and will be stolen from them unless anti-voting fraud measures are implemented in the various states, it will be extremely difficult for the GOP to win any vigorously contested election - national, state, or local!

Meanwhile, my guess is that Ms. Ayala, being a Democrat, a female, and a Hispanic in blue state, will get a slap on the wrist for her outrageous illegal behavior in trying to rig elections for candidates of her beloved party.

I’d really like to know-—what is the fundamental difference between voter fraud and counterfeiting currency?

They are really quite similar, as I see it. If I pass a fake $20 bill, really, it harms nobody until someone notices it, calls the Feds, and the Feds confiscate it.

Likewise, a “rigged” election doesn’t especially harm anyone-—it just makes it so that election is more likely to come out in favor of the “rigger”.

But you get caught counterfeiting currency and you are not going to get any kind of three months probation. The Feds take counterfeiting very, very seriously (eg; only THEY can do it!)

The penalty should be death as vote fraud is a kind of coup. It is treason. It undermines the basic framework of the Republic and disenfranchises the citizen.

String up just one or two traitors and fraud will slow to a crawl.

What a dumb comment! A rigged election is an insult to a constitutional republic, which is the form of government the United States and every component state theoretically has. Without free and fair elections for public offices, you have tyranny. So rigged elections harm the fabric of the entire society!

I don't know about you, but I'd much prefer a constitutional republic where civil liberties of citizens are respected by individuals elected to office, than a tyranny in which rulers emerge by means other than the will of the governed. In the latter situation, the average citizen leads a very constricted and unhappy life, and the society is much more prone to violence as means of settling disputes between the rulers and the governed.

This same witch left the scene of an accident in 2002. She went on to win with 89%.

That said, what's the likelihood of the gutless, spineless, clueless GOPee doing this? The RINO GOPee Elite Establishment is perfectly OK with vote fraud. Besides, if they went after the Donkeys on vote fraud, the Donkey MSM would eat them alive and so they assume their usual neutered position of “hear no evil; speak no evil; see no evil”. And besides, who said the GOPee wants to win? Not as long as they can suck off the taxpayers with the help of Donkeys they're happy.

“a “rigged” election doesn’t especially harm anyone”.........

Tell that to the thousands of military people (or their families) who have been wounded or had loved ones killed due to odumbo being in office these past 6 years. I’m certain they would disagree with you.

I agree that penalties in vote fraud cases, if any penalty in given, are generally much too lenient, but I wouldn't go so far as the death penalty.

A couple of years in prison and a lifetime ban on voting in the future should serve as a deterrent. And, of course, a much larger percentage of voting fraud perps need to be prosecuted.

Punishment for voter fraud must be substantial. It is the worst form of corruption possible, because it creates so many victims.

You're correct on in suggesting that the current GOP establishment has been behind the curve on this issue, as it has been on many others of vital importance. It's kind of amazing that they seem to have their heads buried in the sand, when anyone can see that reducing election fraud improves GOP chances for election victories across the board.

The ultimate solution to this mess, of course, would be to elect more grassroots "Tea party" type Republicans to public office, people who have the courage and integrity to fight for the preservation of a constitutional republic. One of the key components of the grassroots constitutionalist agenda should be measures to cut down on election fraud and cheating.
