Heres the deal. Theres a park in San Francisco with a couple of soccer fields in it. They dont get nearly as much use as they could because theyre grass fields. San Francisco is kinda rainy, it takes a lot of money and resources to maintain real grass fields, and they dont hold up as well as turf under frequent use. So, after about 19 times the due diligence necessary for determining the relative safety and environmental impact of turf athletic fields in any other city on planet Earth, most of San Franciscos leaderscovering the spectrum from Democrats to progressivesdecided turf might be a good idea. But no. Its citizens a veritable municipal army of activists trying to out-progressive one another with self-righteous pronouncements and corporate conspiracy theories has decided this shall not happen...

First time in history SF residents HAVE PASSED UP GRASS..............
Most likely for their pets..............yeah, that’s what it was...........like, for real, man...............
They’ve gone full-circle to the “Grass is Greener” from the “The Ass is Greener” on the other side.
Gay SF phonies at work again.
California is in the grasp of one of the worse droughts in history.
Gay Frisco gets its water from Hetch Hechie in the Yosemite area.
Citizens in the rest of Northern Californicator land are being hounded to remove sod and replace it with astro turf to go with our new rocks and cactus.
A basic question is simple: “How much water do these fields require in a month/quarter or full year? Or do they even know nor care!”
What is going on here?
San Francisdo, home to tree huggers, greenies and advocates of walking around on the city streets au naturel, wants to resurface soccer fields with artificial turf fabricated from recycled vehicle tires made from petroleum byproducts?
No wonder there are earthquakes there.
BTTT
Turf Boogers!
I know that in general soccer players are not too keen about having to play on turf.
Have you ever wondered why folks in the freak show of San Francisco California appear so confused and perverted?

Consider this: Chief Heather Fong (left) is the first SFPD female lesbian Chief of Police. Theresa Sparks (center), a former male, is president of the San Francisco Police Commission, and CEO of a multimillion-dollar sex toy retailer and a transgender woman. Sgt. Stephan Thorne (right), a former female, is the first transgender male SFPD police officer. Their Representative in Congress is the alien lizard Nancy Pelosi.
If there’s grass on the field...
All San Francisco has to do is mention that you won’t have to water the turf.
It’s sustainable!!!!!!
No water will be harmed in the process.
For years to come, think of all the water that will survive.
As the father of two soccer playing daughters, the kids and their parents around here are solidly in favor of turf. The alternative is too often poorly maintained, rough, potholed fields with more dirt and rocks than grass. (I live in the city. The 'burbs are sometimes in better shape.) Plus the well-maintained grass fields get closed quickly in the event of rain. It kinda blows a season apart when four of your first five games have to be rescheduled and you find yourself doubling up every weekend; the girls can play in the rain, but the powers that be want to protect the fields.
The pros can be as prissy as they want for elite level competition on manicured, well-maintained, exclusive use fields. But for youth sports, where the same field will be used for soccer, baseball, lacross, football, etc. more or less from 8:00 a.m. to sundown, and later if there are lights, turf is the choice.
Have them play on dirt, to show solidarity with the 95% of soccer players around the world who do the same.
My ship was homeported at Treasure Island from 1961-64 and then I was transferred to Stockton 64-66. Loved the City and the Bay area. Noticed a big change when returned from Vietnam in 67 and even more so when I returned from Japan in 1970. In 1976 I had a 2 week activity duty in Oakland followed by a visit in the area with wife’s family for another three weeks. What a disaster the area has become!! After seeing someone squat and crap at a curb in downtown San Francisco, I said I would never go back and I haven’t! Lucky my wife’s family has moved to Oregon.
California is “the land of the fruits and the nuts” in more ways than one.
If those are the only alternatives, yeah. But slide-tackling on plastic is painful.
Works great for indoor.
Ya’ just can’t make it up...
The other alternative is of course, baseball...
