The announcement Thursday of the resignation of Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. touched off questions about his replacement and the timing of any Senate confirmation, given the possibility of a Republican takeover of the Senate in January.
Under changes in Senate rules, administration nominees need only a majority of votes to clear procedural hurdles, preventing Republicans from blocking an attorney general pick by denying the 60 votes usually needed to overcome a filibuster.

I hate to say this — but let’s get real. Let’s say the pubs take control of the senate. Would there really be much difference in an AG confirmed in Dec vs Mar?

The Pubs didn’t do jack to try and stop Holder from being confirmed. And his record from the Clinton Administration was well known by all.

I bet Obama appoints a woman, one who is a very liberal woman who just happens to be a single mom with a hardship story.

I wonder if Holder’s got a major problem they don’t want to come out before November. Then there are the things that aren’t hidden—such as the fact that he’s a police-state maniac. Maybe it’s begun to seriously damage the Democrat brand—even beyond the margin of voter fraud.
Rush mentioned the possibility of Claire McCaskill as his replacement. He didn’t say where he’d heard that rumor. Will his Senate replacement require 60 votes, or will Harry Reid’s “simple majority” suffice?

Holder resigns now o get his probably already chosen replacement confirmed before the Republican Senate happens. A Triple Play could be scored if a Justice, Ginsburg say, would retire tomorrow.
Probably not, but there is an outside chance that Valery Jarrett doesn’t want to take.
Look for Obama to nominate Hillary Clinton for AG.
