What about the way Islam, the favorite religion of your husband, views women? Nothing more than chattel.

In the west, “forcing” a woman to pay the $10/month for birth control pills out of her own pocket is “war on women”.
In Islam, raping millions of 9 year old girls, subjugating hundreds of millions of women and girls to abject slavery...
...crickets.
War on Women or ...crickets...
Which is more important to YOU?

We still struggle with ... harmful cultural norms that tell woman(sic) how they are expected to look and actWell, thankfully Michelle Obama does not feel constrained by cultural norms about how women are expected to look and act, or by cultural norms about what should or shouldn't make a First Lady proud to be an American...

Oh you poor, poor womyn victims. How have you survived all these years in backwards America where men have had their boots on the backs of your necks for so long.
Such a tragedy that womyn are so awfully oppressed. And I notice that they are even more oppressed (like clockwork) about every two years around election time.
Oh, how have you survived you womyn of such great suffering?

Oh, those harmful cultural norms! Yup, I suffer from it every day.
As Paglia said, we’d all be living in grass huts if it wasn’t for men.

Don’t they ever get tired of whining? As if men don’t get subjugated too, often worse. But we don’t talk about it, they monopolize the complaint stage, and the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I just wonder if they ever realize how undignified they are.

Look Michelle....We have brains and don’t need your advice.

MO is just another Christian hater.
“Women’s rights”, in the mouths of leftists, doesn’t mean “women’s rights” - it means “we hate Christian morality”.

There is a close congressional race in my area. A lot of outside Democrat money is paying for ads showing women bi-itching about getting paid 75% of what men get paid. Add to this the NFL wife beating story getting played ad-nauseum and you get “WAR ON WOMEN WAR ON WOMEN WAR ON WOMEN.” The Democrats have got nothing new.

" . . . harmful cultural norms that tell woman how they are expected to look and act . . . "
I wonder what she means by that? Who is she talking about? Cosmo? Playboy? The Catholic Church? Joel Osteen? The public school system? Popular movies? Rap music? Nightclub culture? Porn? TV sitcoms? Wheaton College? Hobby Lobby? Which of those cultural forces is enforcing the norm? Which is she talking about?
To: bestintxas
So what’s her excuse?
What’d you do, lady, save for boinking an even greater incompetent?
To: bestintxas
Men are equally oppressed and told how certain minorities of American society demand we act.
I treat women as ladies except at work.
In employment your job is meet a standard, irregardless of gender or race.

"harmful cultural norms that tell woman how they are expected to look and act"
Ok, First Lady, be specific. What norms are you talking about, and who is enforcing them, and what is your alternative? Is it wrong to expect women (or men) to act in a specific way, or at least to avoid certain behaviors? Are there no norms, no boundaries of acceptable behavior and appearance? Should young women be sleeping around, taking drugs, using profanities, using the "n" word? Should they be unwashed and unkempt and dirty?
