Why does ISIS refer to the "break your crosses"?
They got it from Mohammad the Prophet himself.
NOTE: I'm a devout Christian. I believe that Mohammad was either mentally sick or made up the whole Islam thing on purpose.
The Koran: As many of us know, is the Islam holy book. Mohammad claims that the angel Gabriel appeared to him over several years while he was in a trance and told him to "read" this message that Allah told Gabriel to reveal to Mohammad.
The reason why God picked Mohammad about 600 years after the birth of Christ was this: Christians had perverted Jesus' teaching over the centuries.
For instance, according to Islam, Jesus never claimed to be God the Son, and Christians really screwed things up when it came up with a wild belief in a Trinity.
Hadith: This is a sacred collection of Mohammed's sayings and teachings, most of them deal with how to conduct your everyday life.
The Hadith was given to Muslims while Mohammad was NOT in a trance.
Still, Islam believes that they were divinely inspired like the Koran was divinely inspired.
The breaking of the cross: In the Hadith, Mohammad says that Jesus will return at the last days to judge mankind. While Jesus is NOT not God, according to Islam, Allah will give Jesus special powers to judge Man in the last days.
One of the first things Jesus will do is 'break the cross", referring to Christianity, because according to the Holy Koran, Jesus was never crucified. So Jesus will destroy/break all the crosses as punishment for anyone who dared to believe and teach the dogma of the Trinity and the big lie that Jesus was crucified.
Hadith: Here is one Hadith passage where Mohammad talks about Jesus returning on the last day to judge mankind. This is the Hadith passage----there are several such passage in the Hadith collection---that ISIS is referring to when it talks about "breaking the crosses":
0287 Sahih Muslim. Sahih Muslim is one collector of Mohammad's sayings and teachings who is highly respected by Moslems:
Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my life, the son of Mary (may peace be upon him) will soon descend among you as a just judge. He will break crosses, kill swine and abolish Jizya and the wealth will pour forth to such an extent that no one will accept it.
ISIS: So you can see that ISIS' reference is not original. Rather, the message came from the Prophet himself.
