A conservative media watchdog says major news networks appear to be going out of their way to bury the news of President Obama's collapsing poll numbers.
During the midterm election cycle of 2006, ABC, CBS and NBC reported regularly about President George W. Bush's low numbers in public opinion polls. But the Media Research Center says during the current midterm cycle, the networks dont seem to be as interested in reporting similar poll results about Barack Obama's performance.
According to an MRC study, all three of the big news networks have mentioned public opinion surveys related to Obama just nine times in 2014 - almost 14 times less than the 124 times they mentioned Bush's low public support during the same phase of his presidency in 2006.
Rich Noyes, director of research at MRC, thinks the networks are keeping quiet about the discouraging poll results as a way to protect Democratic congressional candidates for this years November elections.
When news networks talk about these polls over and over and over again, it casts the image of a failed president, Noyes tells OneNewsNow. Well, why is the president a failure? Look at ObamaCare. Look at the economy. Look at foreign policy. If this becomes the drumbeat in conversations about politics in the months leading up to the election, that would create a very hostile environment for Democratic candidates."
Noyes says the way things are currently lining up it looks like it could be a bad year for Democrats, despite efforts of the mainstream media.
"They've had a long time to figure out a way to salvage the situation for the Democratic Party, he says. And so far they seem to be in a bigger mess than ever."

A pet peeve of mine as well...I cringe when I hear some nimrod say something like ‘this product has ten times LESS than that one...’ wouldn’t it make more sense to say ‘1/10 as much?
There! Fixed it.
Now you’ve done it. You wrote par for the course about Obama’s plunging poll numbers.
Because the MSM bought the “change we can believe in” package hook, line and sinker. The first black president could do no wrong - he was brilliant without even opening his mouth. And when he did open his mouth the MSM salivated for more. Now, they find themselves like spent hookers - used and no where to go. There egos won’t allow them to take another route in their reporting. They are silent. But, just wait. If we have a Republican president the whole game is changed. They become the cocky, vicious, lying democratic spoon fed pieces of crud they were before.
Well, he's gonna get a Mulligan from the press....................

*snicker*
Congress could fix all this tomorrow by revoking their License to broadcast over the Public Air waves, reason? Blatant Lies and partisanship and not “serving the public good” as Required of their license.
The MSM election fix is in.
All of their spin cannot overcome Obama’s extensive dithering, f***-ups, and I’d-rather-be-golfing attitude.
And now ISIS has the ball. They can pretty much seal his fate depending on what sorts of videos they choose to release.
Bush’s rating was below 30%, a record low. Obama’s is around 40%, which isn’t all that bad, at this point in a presidency.
“New all time low of 48% approval...”
No matter the number, it’s always higher than the last “all time low” as the poll sample has been biased more and more to Democrats and “moderates”.
They didn’t just mention the poll numbers in 2006, it was frequently the lead news story on all 3 networks plus CNN and MSNBC.
“Major networks strangely silent on polls about Obama”
Not strange at all. What’s strange is that the fascist networks don’t report the tens of thousands threats they get directed at them. Oh, that’s right, the media networks have cut off all comments to their BS stories. I guess they want the hangings for treason to be a surprise.
