It looks like the days of trading half of your peanut butter and jelly sandwich for half of your best friends ham sandwich may soon be over if the federal government has anything to do with it.
A Richmond, Virginia mother received the following note, telling her not to pack a lunch for her pre-school age child.
Dear Parents,
I have received word from Federal Programs Preschool pertaining to lunches from home. Parents are to be informed that students can only bring lunches from home if there is a medical condition requiring a specific diet, along with a physicians note to that regard.
I am sorry for any inconvenience. If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact Stephanie [redacted] the Health Coordinator for Federal Programs Preschool at [redacted].
Thanks, Ms. [redacted]

“Unapproved” food is now contraband.
Da. These russian kids look kinda portly.
Better ship them over to the USSA to make them loose some of that excess weight.
Actually if a parent is SO IRRESPONSIBLE as to send their kids to public schools these days, I SERIOUSLY DOUBT they have the faculties needed to properly feed those kids.
So I don’t see a problem with this policy.
If people respond in outrage, they'll say a "mistake was made on the part of a low-level staffer" and issue a half-apology.
But the foot will be in the door. Feds will craft policy that districts will not receive aid unless they abide by the Fed's nutrition standards.

Government gone mad.
Stephanie, I’ve got a free one way plane ticket for you to the great West African country of Liberia.
Then people need to start passing initiatives at the state level that absolutely prohibit school districts and other local political subdivisions frpm receiving any “federal money” that comes with any string attached, no matter how small.
My college Fraternity Pledge paddle in hand.
