An arrest warrant was issued Friday in Texas for Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson after he was indicted on a child abuse charge for using a branch to spank his son. He won't play in Sunday's game against the New England Patriots.
The Vikings said they had deactivated Peterson for Sunday's game Friday evening, just after his lawyer and the Montgomery County sheriff's office confirmed he was
Read Adrian Peterson's lawyer Rusty Hardin's statement in full below:
Adrian Peterson has been informed that he was indicted by a grand jury in Montgomery County, Texas for Injury to a Child. The charged conduct involves using a switch to spank his son. This indictment follows Adrians full cooperation with authorities who have been looking into this matter. Adrian is a loving father who used his judgment as a parent to discipline his son. He used the same kind of discipline with his child that he experienced as a child growing up in east Texas. Adrian has never hidden from what happened. He has cooperated fully with authorities and voluntarily testified before the grand jury for several hours. Adrian will address the charges with the same respect and responsiveness he has brought to this inquiry from its beginning. It is important to remember that Adrian never intended to harm his son and deeply regrets the unintentional injury.

Yeah, the pics say he didn’t know what he was doing. I’m not convinced it’s criminal or rage based, though. A switching can happen awful fast. It’s like wiggling the end of a fishing pole only more limber even than that.
Proverbs 23:13
World English Bible
Don’t withhold correction from a child. If you punish him with the rod, he will not die.
I basically agree with you, but you made a mistake.
Blacks do not use touchy-feely, or rather they do in excess. The welfare queen mothers can be very abusive, beating them for the least little thing.
So, basically we prove that too much and too little corporal punishment ruins kids. Blacks too much, whites too little. Different basic results, but all problems for society.
I got it with a 2 by 4 too once. Mom would use whatever was handy, when the switches weren’t available. That was Missouri, though not Texas.
Remember the old "Tarleton" cigarette slogan: "I'd rather fight than switch?"
Not my point but did you even read it? Sheeesh.
Her husband met her in the parking lot, good guy that he is and did the final escort.
We're multi-generational, grandparents helping kids raise grandkids.
Like my family was.
How many whining here have that experience?

The first grand jury no billed him, It took a second try to get an indictment. History shows that is the sign of a week case.
We got switched when we fought. :>)

My father is lucky he’s no longer around. My butt still remembers those switches.
That's good info. It means among other things that they're debating intent.
Do you not understand how the 'justice' system works in this country?
The grand jury indicts.
It still has to go to trial.

Yes, I agree.
But I am not conflating my fear of punishment with good parenting. Only defending corporal punishment when it is being attacked, which is rampant.
It is only 1 aspect, for sure, but likely crucial along with those other aspects.
My son has not been spanked, maybe some small slaps when he was very little, but nothing at all major or memorable. He is very sensitive and also has been conditioned to behave well as well as has the natural tendencies to avoid troubles of any kind. E.g., never being “handy” by always grabbing things or wanting to make messes, especially vandalizing things. Always very careful. He crumbles at a firm voice. So he has not needed physical punishment. But he will also know we are not afraid to use the hands.
So what question is that you wanna know? I’d rather adhere to the wisdom of the Bible than the fickle, liberal minded, nuanced, triangulated mind of the demented leftists when applying principles of discipline to a child. What say you?
The child is 4 and had marks all over his body plus open wounds and even in the genitalia area.Guess you didn’t see the pictures.Go to this thread.

What is this!!!
If the press is going to turn the NFL into another liberal social cause, then we need to set up day care for all those extracurricular babies extant. We can have the pregame show with a significant segment dedicated to mistress offspring cheering for dear old Dad.
Dennis Green may have been the best NFL coach of all time...or not. He was at least tied for the worst salesman in NFL history. He convinced me in his days at the Viking helm that life is infinitely more pleasant watching the autumn leaves change color.
I haven't even watched a Super Bowl since the Green Era. I would encourage anyone reading this to take a run at such a life style. You will be amazed as to how much more pleasant and relaxing autumn life is sans the NFL.
I could also live at least as well not reading about NFL mystery babies getting murdered.
It is parenting that is directly under attack. The Devil doesn’t want good parenting or good families.

How old is your son?
I see. So, you help your son-in-law beat, switch and bloody up your daughter's kids? I mean, when he has "reason" to, of course. Those were your words, right?
That's really special. That's really, just... wow... American conservatism.
