Kansas Supreme Court Will Hear Dem Senate Candidate’s Challenge to Withdraw from Race

Kansas Democratic Senate candidate Chad Taylor’s effort to get his name taken off this fall’s ballot will be heard in the state’s supreme court, according to reports, the latest twist in a suddenly fast-changing race thought to be a shoo-in for Republicans.

Last week, Kansas secretary of state Kris Kobach ruled that Taylor will have to remain on the ballot since he did not demonstrate that he was incapable of serving if elected, a requirement under state statutes. Taylor went on to file a lawsuit against Kobach, claiming an election official helped him prepare the necessary documents to withdraw from the race; the official denies doing so.

Kobach argued that the lawsuit should be taken up in a lower court, but the supreme court decided the matter was too time-sensitive to go through the standard process, particularly as some ballots are set to be mailed before the end of the month, according to the Hill.

The make-up of the court may favor Taylor: Four of the bench’s seven judges were appointed by former Democratic governor Kathleen Sebelius.

Taylor’s sudden decision is considered by many to be part of a Democratic political strategy to unseat Republican incumbent Pat Roberts, and move a previously safe Senate seat into play. If Taylor voters move to support independent candidate Greg Orman, Roberts will face much stiffer competition, with a recent poll showing him trailing in a match-up against Orman.

Yes, it is. It absolutely nails Greg Orman with his democrat past, including running for the senate in prior years as a democrat, and his campaign contributions to Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton and Obama, among other democrats. It does a good job of tearing down Orman's narrative of running as an independent.

So if the supreme court takes him off the ballot, then would they have another conundrum for having to put another democrat on the ballot?

That’s what the liberals are trying to avoid, to split the disgruntled and liberal vote between the liberal “independent” and the democrat candidates by keeping the democrat off the ballot.

I kind of see where you are coming from if Greg Orman starts faltering though. You would think, by then, my fellow Kansans will be tired off all the liberal shenanigans that have been on in this race.

The local liberal medias are also going to be a big obstacle in this race. One posted a story about Pat Roberts first web ad that exposes Orman as a liberal democrat. It destroys Orman’s narrative of running as an independent. Orman is mad and his only claim to the video is it is a fake edited video. The news station also claims his side that the video is fake, understandable, but they fail to post the video for people to decide for themselves. I watched it and the fake claims sounds just like desperation since the ad does a good job of exposing him.

Essentially the Democrats are being allowed to run TWO candidates despite the primary. One is the “candidate” the second is the “shadow candidate”.

When the official candidate appears to be going down in defeat they are able to have a closed second primary open only to an executive session and remove “candidate” and replace him with “shadow candidate”

That is what it appears to have happened. Greg Orman started running ads early in the primary season, pointing out he was an independent and tired of both parties and Washington DC.

I was sceptical then because the ads were running non-stop. He sure had a ton of money to spend during primary season and touting a popular message, who isn't tired of Washington DC. Maybe it's all the shenanigans the left has pulled on this country that still made me to be sceptical about his candidacy.

Turns out my scepticism paid off as it has been revealed Orman ran against Roberts in 2008 as a democrat. He has also given thousands of dollars to top liberal democrats like 0bama, Hillary, and Harry Reid. This whole other ordeal with getting Taylor off the ballot, stinks to high heaven, of trying to help Orman during the general election. I'm wondering if this is a test run for future "independent" candidates around the country. The left is such a deceptive, evil bunch.

Per KAKE.com the Kansas Supreme Court just ruled to take Taylor’s name off the ballot. Not surprising since this is a Sebelious backed court. Not sure if they said anything about having to put another candidate on the ballot since ballots need to be printed starting this weekend. They probably ran out the clock on purpose so they would not have to. Evil, evil democrats.
