ROCHESTER, Mich. (WJBK) - Lieutenant colonel Sherwood Baker was just a father trying to help his daughter find her way at her new high school.
Sherwood who has served in the Army for 24 years was told by Rochester Adams high school security that if he wanted to get into the high school with his daughter he was going to have to go home and change his clothes.
Baker's wife Rachel Ferhadson says, "before he was allowed in, the security guard stopped him and said sorry you're not allowed in the school. Security told him men and women in uniform weren't allowed because it may offend another student."

Exactly. Price them puppies, with tailoring, sewing on rank, etc. Geez, I had to stay on base for a month.
My kid’s butt would be out of that school asap. Get your children and grandchildren out of public schools. They are communist indoctrination centers. Do whatever you have to do to come up with the money to put them into a church led school, out of the homosexual’s possession. If you have two cars, sell one. If you have a boat, big money hobby, get rid of it. Pay for your kids education out of communism. At least let them have a chance to survive this communist led nation. It is the one thing you can do for your kids. I am thankful that I spent a great deal of my career overseas where my kids went to school with other military kids in, yes, a government school system, but back then, it was not as now. Give them a fighting chance. Otherwise, they are going to grow up good little liberals.
Not all schools yet RA, you hear about many of the larger urban centers and all, but if you get out into the bible belt areas and rural schools you see a completely different system that hardly ever makes the news.
I live in S. central Indiana, and believe it or not our district still has weekday, where they take the kids (who want to go of course) off school property every week to a church nearby and learn about non-denominational Christian beliefs. My kids had a “silent time” before snacks and at lunch when they were in elementary school, and in middle school things changed but not in an awful way like many districts you hear about.
Around here the parents just will not tolerate the BS, and believe me when it comes out that a particular teacher is pushing some idea like AGW as fact the kids tell their parents, we throw a fit in the local papers, and believe it or not, things do change then. The local teachers are getting older now, but they know that this area WILL NOT tolerate the liberal mindset gripping the rest of the nation.
I’m not saying our schools are perfect, my son has an openly gay teacher who is flaming but nothing can be done about that unless he gives another reason to be let go, he even admits it to his HS class if asked. Other than that I think my kids are getting a halfway decent education we are paying for here, if I thought different then I would have pulled them out.
My daughter this year (her sophomore in a private college, University of Indianapolis, run by the Methodist church) got into their highly prized nursing program, only one of 40 out of 1600 applicants largely because of her test scores from that school district. (and her own hard work of course, 4.437 gpa, way better than her old man ever did)
It appears that the principal is a guy named Kevin Cummings. We might suspect that he could be the source of this idiot decision. I just don’t believe that the guard came up with it on his own.
And of course the guard was not in uniform, right?
.
Army officer is told not to enter his daughters high school because he's wearing his uniform
Security told him men and women in uniform weren't allowed "because it may offend another student."
ROCHESTER, Michigan
Rochester Adams high school
.
I agree
>> just wonder where the school guard is from originally
I also wonder about his/her gender and “gender orientation” for some reason.
I guess we’ll never know any of this.
wouldn’t it interesting if it was a female lesbian veteran from Puerto Rico ;)
Just saw this thread.
I can’t take this stuff anymore.
.
Active Duty ping.
Army
Combat
Uniform
Why couldn’t the guard have come up with it on his own? He probably didn’t think anyone would complain and would just sheeple on their way.
If it was the principal HE should be fired along with the rent-a-cop.
Grrrr ping
To the Army officer:
Do.
it.
anyway.
Retracting that statement...
Security stopped him at the door.
So.
Army officer, Take the kid outta that school NOW.
If that uniform offends you, you need a one way ticket to a different country.
Colonel tell'm FU.
It’s possibly the guard but I just tend to lean towards looking up the line.
Could be the guard’s boss from his company to blame.
If that's true, then it is a very sad development. During WWII, if you were a twentysomething man, the public expected you to be wearing a uniform. In the words of Texas Jim Robertson, uniformed servicemen were "welcome as the flowers in May."
bttt!
It is not a school. It is an indoctrination center.
