It is disgusting for someone at the level of president or first lady to speak divisively. However, I don’t see how it is a swipe at rich kids. She is telling poor black kids that they need to get an education, and deal with diversity - like rich kids do. Again, gross to talk in terms of class to kids, but she isn’t swiping at rich kids. We have to get angry about the right things..

“... but she isn’t swiping at rich kids. We have to get angry about the right things.”

I agree. She was trying to teach kids how to be successful.

Certainly not seeing this as a ‘swipe’ at rich kids. Although her ‘street language’ is meant to connect with these students, she is telling them a truism here...

You got to get your education in order to be like the rich folk,

Instead of saying: You have to get an education in order to aspire to become wealthy.

The kids would not understand that language.
