First Lady Michelle Obama spoke at Booker T. Washington High School, a predominantly black school, in Atlanta on Monday. During her speech a student fainted. Obama paused her speech to make sure the child was attended to, then she took a weird swipe at “rich kids.”
White House Dossier posted the transcript:
MRS. OBAMA: But here’s the thing –- even if you’re working hard and doing everything right, there will still be times when things don’t go according to plan. That ever happen to you all?
STUDENTS: Yes….

MRS. OBAMA: Are you all still fired up and ready to — are you listening to me?
STUDENTS: Yes!
MRS. OBAMA: Do you hear what I’m telling you?

You would think that a graduate of Princeton and Harvard would know that “You have to” is sufficient and more correct than you got or you have got. At one time, got was completely unacceptable and should be avoided still. Furthermore, when ever you can omit a word you should. These rules may not seem like much and certainly her meaning is clear, but when you are speaking of education I think you should make a concerted effort to speak correctly. She does not sound well educated to me.
Avoid got, unless you are Teddy Pendergrass: “You got, you got, you got what I need!”

It is disgusting for someone at the level of president or first lady to speak divisively. However, I don’t see how it is a swipe at rich kids. She is telling poor black kids that they need to get an education, and deal with diversity - like rich kids do. Again, gross to talk in terms of class to kids, but she isn’t swiping at rich kids. We have to get angry about the right things..

In the United States, in 2014, poverty has nothing at all to do with money. The "rich kids" Moochelle envies aren't rich because they have money. They're rich because they have values.
I know some rich folk who gave considerable sums to further black education.
Evidently the black community feels that was wrong of them, and they should feel guilty about it...

The title is dishonest. She did not fake a swipe at rich kids, in fact the context was rather the exact opposite.
