First thing I thought when I heard about this was that he saw the 2 billion dollar payment for the Clippers and wanted some of that action. Without all the racial controversy, there would be no attempt by Steve Ballmer to bribe Sterling to give up the team, so no one would have paid 2 billion for the Clippers.

Sterling has his PI’s digging up cr@p about each and every owner in basketball(and it will soon spread to the other sports..goodbye Jerry Jones, Jim Haslam etc). But if his quotes are racist, reprehensible and ignorant then maybe the other NBA owners will help him find a buyer willing to pay $2 billion for his team, too.

Please note that using this scam he didn’t have to petition and bribe the other owners and league to get the sale moving. Saved millions in bribe and lawyer money by going straight for the forced sale. Probably laughing at the other owners and league all the way to the bank.
