You are probably right in the long run. However, the real question is what will it be replaced with. I fear it will be 20 times worse.

The Republican party of today is a party run by corporate lobbyists and political consultants who are glad to be in the minority. They have no problem conspiring with Democrats to get some of their agenda passed. They are not into educating anybody.

Mommy and daddy aren’t going to live forever.
They mistake colbert, stewart and SNL skits as reality, are easily suckered by the dims and can't read cursive writing.
How about the girl who is an actress in New Kensington, PA whose entire life focus seems to be ensuring that gays are able to marry?

Yes, it’s undoubtedly a big factor. The job market has not been robust and many young people have no choice other than to remain at home. That’s a sad reality in today’s economy.
However, in my neighborhood there are lots of young adults who choose to live at home even though they have jobs, all the latest electronical and recreational toys, and in several cases drive late model luxury cars.
By enabling long term avoidance of financial responsibility some parents may be effectively weakening their “kids” in terms of being able to meet future obligations of adulthood.
On the other hand, I would rather not have my kids paying rent to some outsider. If living at home for a few years allows them to save money, then that is good thing. It makes a huge difference between beginning to save money in your 20s than beginning to save in your thirties....It can literally double the amount of money you have for retirement.
We have never seen young people like this, for instance in 1972 with the Vietnam war, the draft, the demonstrations, the anti-war movement and so on, the democrats only got 46% of the under 30 vote.
For Obama, it was 66%.
That’s a valid argument. Anything that promotes the goal of long term self-sufficiency is good IMO.
But there’s a fine line between helping your kids to help themselves, and enabling them. Its something to be mindful of as the years tick by and requires close monitoring of your children’s priorities.
Some of the most capable and affluent people I know became so through frugality and discipline. They are good teachers that help you to stand on your own two feet. A bit of Darwinism if you will.
I have seen a number of cases of parents killing their kids with kindness. Well meaning, perhaps, but in the long run not good for their well being.

Not a good omen for the future of the Republic I’m afraid.
Can they really afford to set up a separate residence or have the money for a down payment on a home? You see lots of electronic toys and late model luxury cars in many our poorest urban neighborhoods. Do they really represent wealth or just to create the appearance of wealth?
The reality is that we have huge numbers of unemployed young people. The supply of potential workers is enormous: 8.7 million native college graduates are not working, as are 17 million with some college, and 25.3 million with no more than a high school education. If you want to read an excellent article on youth unemployment, read this interview from PBS of all places. For me, the signs are very disturbing. We are creating a permanent underclass and our cities and suburbs are just time bombs waiting to explode.
Wait until mommy and daddy become senior citizens...and their 50 year old hacks them to death because they decreased the allowance. At least the “child” would be happy.
One thing is for sure...if the Democrats really do get their nads in a wringer they can absolutely buy themselves an election just by proposing Student Loan Forgiveness.

Sure it can. I predict that the Dow will go above 100,000 in the near future. Of course, by then $100,000 won't buy you a cup of coffee.

Why would you think that any political party should be educating youth? The primary educator of youth is, or should be, the family. If we have liberal leaning youth it is because they have liberal parents, or failed conservative parents.
The other component of society’s education of all ages is evangelism. People holding foolish ideas can often be converted when presented with sensible ideas, over time, by the right people, in the right way. Share the truth. Converse with others.
