Apparently Levenson doesn't want to go through what Donald Sterling went through. Time to sell his ownership stake and get out....

He must have received an offer he couldn’t refuse.

Asking if the “white fans” might be afraid of the “black fans” is now “racist”? It sounds to me as though the “jelly beans” have fallen out of the bag.

From what I read of his email, he had some valid points.

After reading the email, it seems more like a frank analysis of his business and what must be done to increase the fan base. No doubt, whoever buys it must do the same thing.

Obviously, the timing is suspect. It is either blackmail or a shrewd businessman thinking this is a good time to sell.

I wouldn’t go see an NBA game if it were being played in my living room.

Atlanta Hawks?

That name sounds offensive and degrading to Mother Gaia’s wild birds, doesn’t it?

Maybe they should change their name to the Atlanta Muggers, the Atlanta Knock-Outs, or the Atlanta Traffic Jams.

I enjoyed NBA and NCAA basketball back in the 1970s when it resembled basketball, but now I wouldn’t attend a Hawks game if you gave me free tickets and $500 cash. I have absolutely no interest in the excessive noise and celebration of thug culture that permeates the NBA, and could not care less if they win, lose or leave town. No interest whatsoever. And now the politicized NFL is speeding down the same road.

And what dId he say in this e-mail that was not true? Maybe Levenson wants out and thinks he can get more money this way than by merely announcing the team is for sale.

I am willing to go to an NBA game but I will have to be paid for my time. I am not greedy so $5000 should be sufficient.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver called the remarks “entirely unacceptable” and commended Levenson for self-reporting to the league office. The league will work with the Hawks to determine the appropriate sales process for the team, Silver said.

But in the mean time, unlike Sterling, Silver isn't banning him from the team for life. So will he at least help find a Sugar Daddy who will pay $2 billion for this franchise too?

Honestly.... if a person had that kind of money.... why in the world would they want to own an NBA team in this day and age? Of all the things a person could own... an NBA team?

I thought the Clippers were sold to Steve Ballmer for $2 billion. Would the price have gone that high without all the publicity?

Plan:

1. Tweet something that might be considered "racist"

2. "Duck and cover"

3. Collect mucho dollars

4. Retire to Tahiti.

5. Laugh all the way to the bank.

I don’t support racist actions or comments. At the same time, I don’t think someone’s livelihood should be subject to PC Group think based on an occasional stupid comment.

Does anyone thing these gang members that are punching out folks on the street should be banned from holding a job ever again, even if the person was missed with the punch?

What about drive by shooters? Should we prevent them from holding a job ever again even if they haven’t wounded someone?

Do blacks think any black that burglarizes the homes of whites, should never be able to get a job again?

These owners should have rights too. I realize they are more highly visible, but that should now make a difference if it’s a seldom exhibited behavior.

Look at the words to some of the rap songs out there. Haven’t heard of anyone being banned for those lyrics.

Is there any update on whether Sterling will be exempted from capital gains taxes, on account of the sale being forced? If Sterling avoids a tax hit of hundreds of millions of dollars, wouldn’t that give Levenson pause, about selling before being forced to?
