TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- U.S. Senator Roger Wicker calls the nation's foreign policy a catastrophe.
That comment comes amid concerns about Russia's aggression toward Ukraine and the takeover of neighboring countries like Georgia and Crimea.
Senator Wicker says sanctions are effective, but the ones hurt the most are the Russian people.
Even so, he says the majority of Russians fully support Putin.
He compares Russian President Vladimir Putin to dictators such as Joseph Stalin and Adolph Hitler.
"It's really a shame that we are allowing Putin to become a neo-Stalinist and to engage in the takeover of neighboring countries," said Senator Wicker.
Senator Wicker says he is also deeply concerned about the possibility of pulling out of Afghanistan without leaving a security force behind.
He says the Afghan people are calling for it.
Senator Wicker says leaving Afghanistan like Iraq is a huge mistake.
I’ve seen wicker furniture that would make a better Senator than Thad’s buddy.
No kidding...
It actually angers me a great deal to see a Senator addressed without an (R) or a (D) after their name.
I don’t follow this guy. Is he a (D)? I have no idea.
Folks, if we’re going to post stuff about our national Senators, please add the information even if it isn’t presented.
Not trying to give you a hard time TailGunner Joe, because you’re doing a service by bring this to us, but I’d sure like to know which side of the isle this nut-job is on.
Honestly, I’ve checked out of keeping tabs on every person in D.C., so I’m sure I should know, but I don’t.
No offense intended.
In less time than it took you to complain, you could have done a search and discovered that he is a Republican.
Probably right. Now, should fifty of use have to do that?
No.
Wicker did not seemed concerned when The Barbour Clan ran racist ads
against McDaniel.
Wicker needs to be voted out.
Most of us know the political affiliations of the 100 members of the Senate. It’s a good thing to know.
I agree. Look, I used to pay a lot more attention when there were two recognized parties. Today it’s pointless to follow them as they’re pretty much the same party.
I do want to know, but it’s a lot less significant.
Your admonition isn’t out of line. I pretty much agree with you. None the less, a public service of adding in the (R) and (D) isn’t that much out of line IMO.
Is the D or R so important as to forgo principles?
Trent Lott’s amnesty was worse than anything Putin has pushed or wants to push.
Wicker only flipped on amnesty after being bombarded with calls in 2013. Then he want on local radio and said he still wants to bring them out of the shadows.
Cochran is more conservative than him. My idea was for Wicker to resign instead. Unite the MSGOP for 2014 and 2015 Gubernatorial. Now some of Wicker’s buddies could get taken out in 2015 primaries.
Have I advocated we forgo principles?
Mississippi ping
If Roger Wicker doesn’t know if he’s a Democrat or Republican, I don’t know why Tailgunner Joe should be expected to know...
LOL
“It actually angers me a great deal to see a Senator addressed without an (R) or a (D) after their name.”
Senator Wicker (r) Mississippi should always receive a lower case “r” for rino.
“Wicker did not seemed concerned when The Barbour Clan ran racist ads
against McDaniel.
Wicker needs to be voted out.”
Wicker was proud of their efforts to solicit democrat votes, I called his office. The racist ads, envelopes of money, whatever it took he’s proud of the effort put forth by himself, his aides, the RNSC, the barbours, the cochran campaigm committee and joe nosef chairman and divider of the Mississippi Republican party.
Yes, that’s a good call IMO.
I should also say that my comments probably gave the impression that my anger would be directed at Tailgunner Joe for not putting the (R) or (r) in for us.
No, I mean the original article without the designation would anger me, not Tailgunner Joe for not inserting it for us.
I just meant that I would appreciate it if Tailgunner Joe put it in.
Sorry for sending the wrong impression with comments that weren’t as well crafted as I meant them to be.
Haley Barbour and Julian Castro are foreign agents of Mexico.
