Ping!
I see we have another ebola infected doc being shipped in. This time to Nebraska.
Fingers crossed that Ebola gets to Mecca in time for the Hadj.
Ping.
18 percent. Not 19. Not 17. 18 percent.
Not 16, not 20, not 15, not 21, not 007, not 666.....
Yeah, I think I would trust it more if it were “about 20%.”
18% reminds me too much of Get Smart. Just a little too exact.
I hope the poop don’t hit the fan until December. We’ll be back from Asia by then.
In this time of potential crisis, I’m glad we have a competent president who cares about what’s best for the American people.
...Oops, nevermind.
Who knows he might just watch the news and learn of the potential crisis.
No matter what the figure, it is based on everything going right and the virus which has been undergoing multiple mutations no longer mutating.
I think it's weird that the sick ones seem to be sort of "distributed" to various places. It reminds me of the scene in "Twelve Monkeys" where the red-headed Researcher books flights to pretty much every densely populated city on Earth, one right after the other. Not good. Not good at all.
'Course, Nebraska is not exactly densely populated. So I guess it's OK.
Well, just in time to save the rats and their king rat from an inconvenient election.
If that does happen, I hate to say I predicted something like this quite some time ago.
Great! as if we aren’t bleeding enough already!
Crash refit Plum Island as a containment lab, drop Ebola patients there.
Its an island, shoot anyone trying to leave it.
Insanity. Pure insanity.
Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
I remember back in the 1970s scientists saying there was nothing to fear because the African Honey Bees would inbreed with the docile American bees and no longer be aggressive.
It didn't work.
The selfsame experts who insist that any American with Ebola, anywhere on earth, has a Gawd-given right to a private jet and treatment on American soil, quarantines be damned?
Those 'experts'?
