A gay group will be able to march under its own banner in the city's St. Patrick's Day Parade for the first time on March 17, organizers said Wednesday.
The nation’s oldest and biggest St. Pat's parade will lift the ban on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender groups that want to participate while identifying themselves as gay.
“Those of us who are Irish and LGBT would watch this city celebrate and know we weren’t welcome,” former City Council speaker Christine Quinn, who boycotted the event for decades, told the Daily News.
“To have that end, not only puts all of that behind us, I hope it sends a message to communities all over the world to not give up the fight,” said Quinn, who is openly lesbian. “Be proud of yourself. Don’t hide who you are.”
The groups have been prohibited from identifying themselves at the centuries-old event because organizers said they wanted to avoid politics. Most marching units in the parade carry identifying banners.

that's fine, just don't allow them to show off their gay-ism. That will likely ruin it for the young kids who don't understand the debauchery of that life stile and it will offend those who are there for the real purpose of the parade.
I attended the Saint Patrick’s Parade in NYC for the first time a couple of years ago.It was a beautiful day and an impressive sight and I’m thrilled to have seen it.But my interest of seeing it again just dropped to zero.

Where’s a giant fireball from heaven when you need one? This is disgusting. There is no reason for any mention of one’s sexual proclivities in a parade. Where are the people marching with the pro-heterosexual marriage banners? Oh yeah, they’re intolerant. I forgot.
This is the saddest day in Irish American history. Up until now this was a Catholic religious parade. Now it has been defiled. I hope the Catholic school marching bands drop out. Now what does Cardinal Dolan do? Wave and smile? Join them? March with Comrade de Blasio? or stay inside?
Mark my words this parade will disappear at some distant point when secular humanists decide it is a waste of time and money.

Indeed. Its NOT ENOUGH to be Irish or of Irish descent, the root reason for honoring the Great St. Patrick in the first place, this group has to LEAD with the fact that they are Homosexual FIRST and FOREMOST ahead of Nationality, a characteristic that cannot be argued. Does any other demographic group lead an introduction of their identity with their sexual preference? The news media would have us all belive that 3/4 of the groups they photograph or film are Homosexual. The actual statistical demographic is somewhere around 0.08% of the population. Yet their clout is everywhere.
There was a time when gays could march in the St. Patrick day parade as long as they not advertise their lifestyle openly.
The organizers used to say that anyone can march with them as long as no political signs are displayed ( even Pro-life signs are not allowed ).
This apparently has changed and the organizers have caved in to pressure.

We do not participate in any community events any more. Never would watch this on television either. I do not care what you do at home but out on the street is a different story. I do not see flags flying proclaiming I (blank) the opposite sex and I wouldn’t participate in anything that did.

Based on his response to Michael Sam's announcement a few months back, he'll be saying "Bravo!".
Now the fags can march, be half naked, and have their asses painted like rainbows. Maybe that’ll make them happy. At the same time Christians can march holding Pro-Life banners and proclaiming they are Christians and hold signs signing they are for real marriage. Likewise athiests can march holding their “God is dead” banners. Along come the witches holding their banners. If Bill Dohonue of the Catholic league does not think this is a recipe for disaster he’s crazy. And the organizations are raving lunatics to once again cave into the radical sodomites. Maybe DeBlazio’s current wife, who a former “transgender” will be marching with those freaks telling all the little children in NYC how wonderful it is to be a woman that used to be man. In the meantime St. Patrick will be crying in heaven. Queers and PC politics rule the day in the St. Patrick’s parade. It might as well be disbanded.
