Actually, on 9/11/01, a lot of US Air Force and Navy were in Saudi Arabia at King Kalid AB (and other places in SA) enforcing the no-fly zone against Saddam Hussein.
It was one of the things Bin Laden used to justify 9/11; that “Crusader infidels” we’re defiling the Holy Land of Mecca and Medina.
Yes, you’re right. I had forgotten about that. Strangely I reference the no fly zone in effect and the SAM lock ons that were taking place back then. I should have remembered this.
