After hearing Dr. Kent Brantly publicly thank God for healing him from the deadly Ebola virus, atheist Sam de Brito posted a scathing article at the Sydney Morning Herald that questions Brantly as a true man of medicine. The article entitled: Science, Not God, Saved Him from Ebola, takes issue with Brantly crediting God for his healing. Brantly, a Samaritans Purse doctor received experimental Ebola treatments at Emory University Hospital after his emergency evacuation from Liberia. He was released from the hospital on August 21, saying, I am forever thankful to God for sparing my life.
While de Brito's perspective is shared by many who doubt the reality of the supernatural, what his critique refuses to grant is the possibility that both aspects of Brantly's healingthe scientific and the spiritualare compatible. If Dr. Brantly, a trained medical doctor, gives God ultimate credit for saving his life, does that necessarily discount the effort of skilled physicians who used the most of scientific advancements they could in his treatment? No, says Christian apologist Jonathan Sarfati. Such attempts may seem to place Christians on the horns of a dilemma but it is a false dichotomy. Furthermore, anti-theists actually choose not to acknowledge that science pre-supposes the existence of the biblical God.
As Rich Deem at GodandScience.org argues, God uses the advances of science and medicine in the hands of skilled physicians as instruments of healing. Ultimately, every breath is from the Lord, even the breath of those who disbelieve (1 Samuel 2:6).
Your turn: What do you think of Dr. Brantly being mocked for giving God credit for his healing?

Atheists are idiots. They alone “know” that another man’s intimate Faith is not real.
I repeat — atheists are idiots.
God spoke the world into existence. . .you can’t get more dramatic than that, He is in charge of our next breath, and the Bible says that EVERY knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Prepare! http://www.patburt.com/
Well then God must be very dramatic... to give someone Ebola, just to reveal his glory...
1. GOD is GOOD all the time. All the time GOD is good.
2. Satan comes to seek, kill, and destroy.
3. God works all things for good for those who love the Lord according to His purpose for them.
4. Give God the glory!
My thoughts exactly. What are you so mad about? I don’t believe in elves and Santa Clause, so should I yell at all the children at the mall that they are being duped and are stupid for believing in Santa?
science doesn’t disprove God.
beyond that, given the flip-flopping scientists do all the time on just about everything, and each time saying with confidence they’re right, i don’t think anyone in “science” should be mocking anyone.
and i speak as one in the sciences.
They treated Jesus the same way.
The disciple is not above his master. If they hated Jesus, they will hate His followers as well.
Wear it as a badge of honor. Sleep well knowing you irked an atheist and are living in their heads 24/7.
Science, Not God, Saved Him from Ebola
ahahahaha the moron who spoke those words knows nothing of what science is or who God is
did SCIENCE synthesize a cure....? form what natural....God Given Materials?
did SCIENCE create the minds of those who God used to help cure this doctor?
amazing
atheists presume themselves to be omniscient...
**God determines the beginning and end of atheist lives, too.
God is not mocked. Good thing for him that we know God is longsuffering.**
And that God does not forget when people do not repent.
I have news for you....he is mocked all the time. By the very fact Muslims breath is proof enough.
Matthew 10:33
Douay-Rheims
But he that shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.
The Lord is not mocked. Perhaps he’ll strike this despicable man with ebola.
Instead of being overjoyed this man survived the disease, potshots are taken
Re #3... one would think this good Christian physician loves the Lord and was fulfilling his purpose (i.e, healing the sick) and yet he seems not to have received his measure of God’s glory...in fact he seems to have gotten a little of #2!
“...yet he seems not to have received his measure of Gods glory”
Only God gets the glory. The doctor healed an Ebola infected doctor for His glory.
In fact this doctor’s miraculous healing is a testament to God’s promises.
Psalm 41
1 Blessed are those who have regard for the weak;
the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.
2 The Lord protects and preserves them
they are counted among the blessed in the land
he does not give them over to the desire of their foes.
3 The Lord sustains them on their sickbed
and restores them from their bed of illness.
God also promises protection from the plague in Psalm 91
To God be the glory. Great things He has done.
Jeepers ... Thanks for the ping!
In these times, EVERYONE needs to hold onto the truths found in Psalm 91 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+91
Atheist will always have their hatred for God.
It is the pillar of their existence.
How can anyone hate God so much? Praying gave that man strength and likely saved him. How hard is it to acknowledge it and praise God.
That is a typical atheistic superficial understanding of theology expressed in their scorn, but what Scripture teaches is that God does not seek glory or do things out of some need for it, but instead, God commands worship, esp. from His covenanted people as it is right and necessary to worship and live for what is alone perfect, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.
If you had a fearful or independent willful son in the jungle, you would not admonish him to follow and obey you due to ego, and may display your strength and skill to teach him what he should value and who he should trust, rather than some vain thing. Likewise you would hope your daughter would admire your good wife versus the loose women next door. What we trust, love and admire most will determine our actions.
And what is best for man is to worship and thus live for God, for setting your ultimate affection and allegiance upon, or finding your ultimate security in anything created will fail you. Whatever that is, is our god, at least at that moment, and what we worship orders our life's and what we wil become.
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us... (Ephesians 5:1-2)
Yeah - explain to the kids that the toys are made in China when they’ve been told that elves at the North Pole in Santa’s workshop made them ....
