Former Rep. Ron Paul said he believes the U.S. government had prior knowledge of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and has kept this information hidden in a classified section of the 9/11 Commission report.
Paul, who made the comments during a radio interview last Friday, also argued that the crimes of Osama bin Laden were minor compared to the harm the U.S. government has caused since the 2001 attacks.
I believe that if we ever get the full truth [about 9/11], well find out that our government had it in the records exactly what the plans were, or at least close to it, said Paul, during the interview with Money and Markets host Charles Goyette. You already mentioned that [the U.S. government] had been warned that something was going to happen.
However, Paul said he doubted that Bush administration officials personally helped plot the attacks.
Does that prove the fact that our president and others actually sat down and laid the plans and did this? I dont think it does, he said.
Paul also said the U.S. government has been more destructive than 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden.
Our own government did more harm to the liberties of the American people than bin Laden did, said Paul. [Bin Laden] was a monster himself, but that was minor compared to the damage done financially, the people that have died. And here we are, 24 years, and were still fighting a war in the pretense that had something to do with 9/11.(continued)

Isn’t there a Losertarian board you can post your wackadoo views on? do you have to post on FR?
Maybe yes, maybe no.
They did have foreknowledge of the Locherbie attack. That's why al those college kids were able to get those last minute seats. The embassy staff cancelled their tickets because they heard there was a terrorist threat.
Well that I agree on, but his over all congressional record was good. He didn’t start this 9-11 truther bullsh-t til fairly recently. A last gasp at relevance.
ron paul is a kook
He may not be completely right about everything, but he is right about one thing .... why is the report classified? There could not be anything in the report that could be remotely considered of national security importance this long after the attack. Several representative have stated specifically that the 28 classified pages of the report should be released to the public .... but the catch is that the public would not ever view the government the same afterwards.
As a former intelligence analyst I can tell you that many things are classified for 50 years due to sources & methods not being revealed.
Spot on. And google Dietrich “Dieter” Snell and see what pops.
Nice strawman. My points are in-line with FR's mission statement and conservatism in general.
Do you agree that the federal government is out of control or not?
“And here we are, 24 years, and were still fighting a war in the pretense that had something to do with 9/11.
I’m no math wizz, but I don’t think its been 24 years since 9/11
You are trying to turn back the tide with a spoon.
PDS is in full effect here and there is no going back.
Why send Shaq to Iraq? He’s a black conservative.
Thank you.. When you look at all the countries with stable governments the United States has either overthrown, or WANTED to overthrow, it’s clear something’s amiss with our government. Iraq/Saddam, Libya/Ghadaffi, Egypt/Mubarak, Syria/Assad.. All stable governments turned Islamic extremist, with the exception of Egypt who reversed Hillary’s wishes for the MB.
Hey Dead! Good to see you again.
Spitzer’s organic buttplug?
No... Haven’t forgotten him either.
F**K wRONg PAUL and his twisted acolytes.
Never left...
Just don’t see quite as much point to posting these days. This thread is a good example.
Been out DOING things. Analog reality. What a concept. ;-)
True but the “sources and methods” could be easily redacted and the real meat left on the bone.
Oh... Impressive.
That’ll show ‘em...
Your comment aside, I have to wonder just how far the apple (son, Rand) fell from the tree (father, Ron.)
You may be right: Ron doesn't want to see his Son become President.
Can you imagine the holiday get-togethers if Rand Paul were actually elected President? I bet they'd be a hoot!
Ron: Son, you're nothing more than a big government terrorist enabling panderer!
Rand: Why gee, thanks Dad!
