CNN has been transformed from a sober and respected news network into a shrill and biased mouthpiece for liberals, according to actor, author and economist Ben Stein.
Stein, a speechwriter for Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, said the dramatic change is particularly noticeable in CNN's coverage of the racial strife in Ferguson, Mo., following the fatal shooting of a black teen by a white police officer.
"They've flipped out. I don't know what happened to CNN because CNN used to really be great and I can remember when it was great," Stein said Tuesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"It wasn't that long ago that they just flipped out in a leftward direction and in a provocative direction and [are] always endlessly, endlessly, endlessly whipping up grievances .
"They just assume the police are wrong, white people are wrong, any Republican is wrong, any businessman is wrong. They just will always play on that nerve."
The cable network has assumed it is "standard procedure" for white policemen to kill unarmed teenagers, Stein said of the killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown by Officer Darren Wilson following an altercation....

That’s because they sold their soul for access.
Yep, CNN was good at the start of the first Gulf War in ‘91.
Of course, back then they were the only full-time cable news network.
“Ben just now figured that out?”
Maybe he just tuned in for the first time in 20 years.
“CNN Has ‘Flipped Out in a Leftward Direction’”
What the he__ did anyone THINK was going to happen when they named Former NBC President and former Obama speechwriter Jeff Zucker as President of CNN??
Did he think Zucker wouldn’t turn CNN into an MSNBC clone???
On the bright side, Zucker was informed this week of SERIOUS layoffs at Turner Broadcasting, and CNN was going to take the brunt of it, forcing a “Change in how we do business”
550 Buyouts, Layoffs Imminent at Turner; HLN, CNN Among Cuts

They finally retracted the story in total after a week or so after it was proven their source was a lunatic. But they ran it hard and heavy, especially on their international broadcasts.
CNN has always mirrored the personality of their founder — Ted Turner. They have always been nuts.
Some say Ben did, too after seeing some of his bizarre appearances on cable news shows (and the noticeable lack of appearances on others)
because CNN used to really be great and I can remember when it was great,”

CNN? Great? Typical Nixon Republican.
“They’ve flipped out. I don’t know what happened to CNN because CNN used to really be great and I can remember when it was great,” Stein said Tuesday on “The Steve Malzberg Show” on Newsmax TV.
Maybe it was after Ted Turner’s 11 Voluntary Initiatives, a summary of his pet causes (starting with I promise to care for planet Earth ). He keeps a copy in his walletminitablets that bear a deliberate, if slightly hubristic, resemblance to the Ten Commandments. You have to have rules to live bynations need it, the world needs it, humanity needs it, he explains. I thought if were gonna start over with a parallel set of rules, voluntary initiatives would be more acceptable because people dont want to be commanded anymore today.

CNN is a product of the 60’s generation. This generation made great music and loosened things up (which we all needed) but, they are absolutely crappy adults. “Imagine” by John Lennon is a beautiful little song, but it can not be the basis for running a country. CNN simply will not accept this fact of humanity.
They 6’s generation really thought that when Obama became President the world would become a place of peace and harmony. Now that they are getting the spanking they should have got 55 years ago (via ISIS, IRS scandal, and the obviously corrupt Obama administration to name a few highlites), perhaps the boomers are finally maturing. But, if that were the case, why does CNN exist?
Now that I think about, until the 60’s generation passes through the sands of time (with all due respect), our country will be in mortal danger. The Beatles, The Mama’s and the Papa’s, and Bob Dylan simply can not run a country...even if they can help us find our inner self.
After reading his book. I believe that Bob Dylan had no intentions of trying to teach people how to govern a country. He was first and foremost an entertainer. Secondarily he made political commentary. But he wanted little of what the popular movements of the 60’s had to offer. From what I can understand, he genuinely loved being an American and with the exception of civil rights, certainly did not want it to undergo any major social changes.
Ben, when did you discover this leftward slant? Ben is good, but if he thought CNN ever had a conservative view...
I want to know, exactly, when the entire, worldwide MSM wasn’t pro-leftist and what caused the change to “all leftist, all of the time”! Ditto, the entertainment world!
Art Bell replaced Larry King’s syndicated overnight talk radio program, maybe he could replace King’s show on CNN too.

Atlanta Braves with Jane Fonda doing the tomahawk chop.
Now why should the Redskins change their name if Ted & Jane can have the name Braves and a tomahawk?
Apparently gangs like CNN and MSNBC have decided to abandon the field when it comes to competitive journalism and to accept whatever modest but consistent profits they can make from pandering to their own little niche of the public - in both cases trying to provide what the especially - in contrast to the just plain everyday - loony left wants to see and hear - they’re incapable of providing reasonably objective and accurate reporting to the people, and at least they seem to know their limitations.....
They’re getting Soros, union, Obama-stash, NGO, DNC, OPEC and Lavender Mob money.
I was speaking metaphorically....but, your point is well taken.
