Over the past six years, Chicago has become a top potential target for international terrorists, a top security expert said Friday, making the posting of a veiled threat by Islamic radicals on Twitter a higher cause for concern.
Many terror organizations refer to Chicago as Obama Town, said CBS 2 security expert Ross Rice, a former FBI agent in Chicago. Under President Obama, the U.S. took out Osama bin Laden, and used repeated drone strikes to weaken terror networks.
In the meantime, the U.S. government on Friday issued a security bulletin to all U.S. law enforcement in light of the overall threat posed by Islamic State, commonly known as ISIS or ISIL.
The ominous post on Twitter, purportedly from somebody connected with Islamic State, shows a photo of the Old Republic Building, 307 N. Michigan Ave., in Chicago and the White House.
The text reads:
#AmessagefromISIStoUS We are in your state We are in your cities We are in your streets
You are our goals anywhere.

The handwritten note is dated June 20.
The security bulletin issued Friday cautioned that there is no known threat to any U.S. cities
The Twitter message seems to imply that Islamic State operatives are in Chicago and other U.S. cities.
Islamic State is responsible for executing kidnapped journalist James Foley. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said ISIS an imminent threat to every interest we have.
Making things more complicated is the fact that these radicalized men are U.S. citizens or foreign nationals here legally, making it easy for them to travel and avoid suspicion.

That’s okay - Rahm and Obama are in charge.
There is no doubt in my military mind that something very bad is in the works...
Misdirection, never happen. A big event in Chicago would spitefully strike at Obama, and might spur him to action. Why wouldn’t they want to hit a red state, where Obama would just sigh about how terrible it was... before hitting the golf cart.
Really, the golf shots after his Foley speech are incredible. They should be devastating. I saw them on FOX with the photo times imprinted on the photographs. Maybe I’m old, but I can’t transit between events in eight minutes without a lot of preplanning, hurrying, and even assistance (like a ride to the second venue and laid out clothes). This would be great campaign ad stuff, to look at it in a small-ball sort of way.
Seems like Chicago is already doing a remarkable job of terrorizing itself.
Obama’s chickens are coming home to roost.
Chicago is already Gaza on the lake, as dangerous as Gaza.
Who needs ISIS when you have the black youth of America.
How about New York? After 9-11, New York abandoned the war on terror. We flyovers may not be so sympathetic this time.
Chicago has attracted a lot of evil for a very long time.
Sometimes I feel that's a factor...
Golly! Isn’t Chicago the home town of our Muslim President?
Odd.....I don’t recall threats issued about Crawford, TX during the Bush admin.
I'm sorry, but I work in Chicago and I'm laughing my ass off.
Do these ISIS morons have any idea just who they're messing with? They cross the wrong gangland border in Chicago and they're going to get their asses handed to 'em.
ISIS got nothing on any Chicago street gang --- the proof is in Chicago's weekend shooting and murder counts!
Bring it on, ISIS bitches.
Perhaps ISIS would hit a golf course. That would get his attention.
It would be the biggest thing to hit Chicago since the last time the Mayor turned down a bribe.
Your gangs will side with ISIS and the rest of you can't buy guns...
I sure hope they dont destroy Chicago/s
