The headline was brutal. “Bam’s Golf War: Prez tees off as Foley’s parents grieve,” read the cover of Thursday’s New York Daily News. Obama’s gaffe was this: He had denounced the beheading of James Foley from a vacation spot in Martha’s Vineyard, then went to the golf course. Seems like he had a great time. Such a great time that he returned to the Farm Neck Golf Club—sorry, membership is full—the next day.

Technically, Obama’s vacation began on August 9. It is scheduled to end on Sunday, August 24. With the exception of a two-day interlude in D.C., it has been two weeks of golf, jazz, biking, beach going, dining out, celebrating, and sniping from critics, not all of them conservative, who are unnerved by the president taking time off at a moment of peril.

Attacking the president for vacation is usually the job of the out party. But these days it is the job of all parties. Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, ISIL, Ebola, child migrants on the border, racial strife in Ferguson, an American murdered by the caliphate—critics say the president who danced to every song at Ann Jordan’s birthday party seems remote and aloof from, and even mildly annoyed by, such concerns.

I’m wondering if he’s suddenly going to announce that he’s leaving for Indonesia or he’s gotten a better gig elsewhere (maybe as UN chief, if he retakes his Indonesian citizenship?). His behavior has been way beyond bizarre.

Once the POS-in-Chief was re-elected, he went into “I don’t give a crap, and no one will call me on anything” mode. I can imagine him sticking out his tongue and saying “Neener, neener, neener” to everyone. Life is a cabaret for Barry.

Some people believe Obama is addicted to golf. I’m beginning to believe it. If I had known being prez was such an easy job, I might have tried for it myself.

If you read a NYT piece by one of Obama’s drones (linked through hotair) you’ll see that the golf and vacations show just how grief stricken Obama really is. And it lets the thugs know that no matter what they do Obama is so cool, collected, and in control that they can’t shake his steely reserve as leader of the free world.

Yes, that fact is starting to peek out. Have you noticed that recent headline where "The White House" was undecided whether or not to send Obama to Missouri, making it sound like he's someone else's emissary?

Sometimes headlines aren't painfully sloppy, they're very deliberate. I just wonder who was sending what message to whom?
