Paul Ryan airs frustrations with GOP in new book (that no one is buying!)
CBS News ^ | 8/19/14 | JOSHUA ROBERTS

As Congress hurtled toward a government shutdown in the fall of 2013, Rep. Paul Ryan looked around at fellow Republicans who were agitating to shutter national parks, federal agencies and Head Start programs.

"This can't be the full measure of our party and our movement," Ryan writes of that moment in his new book, released Tuesday. "If it is, we're dead and the country is lost."

Such moments of raw frustration pepper Ryan's "The Way Forward: Renewing the American Idea," a book as much about his front-row seat as Republicans' favorite budget wonk as it is about his political future. Ryan is considered a contender for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination.

“Hey, A-hole, no one was agitating to shutter national parks. No one. The Dems did it as a strategy to make the Republicans look bad. If Ryan does not understand that, he’s a complete F-ing idiot.”

Good summary. If someone in the GOP accepts Democrats accusations as truth, then what use is he?

“Ryan recounts being confronted at a county fair by a Democrat who objected to his frequent talk of “the makers” and “the takers,” or the divide between those who pay more taxes than the ones who receive government benefits such as unemployment insurance, Social Security and Medicare. Ryan now realizes that during that confrontation, he had been insulting voters without realizing it.”

Ryan wanted to cut the prepaid pensions of the military while fully supporting tax “refunds” to illegals. Apart from attacking military pensions (which are funded in advance by the Pentagon with a pension fund that is in the black for as far as the eye can see), Ryan accepts pretty much everything.

He makes no attempt to distinguish between those getting SS benefits they worked for, and those getting disability thru fraud. He seems to have no idea that there are generations who have lived on welfare. He apparently has never seen an extremely fat woman pay with food stamps while her extremely fat kids go around the checkout aisle (because they wouldn’t FIT thru the checkout aisle), or watched them get into a new car.

He’s making GWB look like a fiscal conservative, and GWB most definitely was NOT!

I guess people are getting tired of the babble spewn by politicians. I am getting tired of the continual appearances by the same pundits on the talk shows (Beckel, Williams, Powers, Rove, et al). It’s more interesting to hear the conversations at the local coffee shop.

Paul Ryan is a big-government politician. His solutions always involve more government, not less. FUPR.

Has he hit all the late-night book-a-thon news programs yet? You know ...Hannity/O’Reilly/vanSusteren/Kelley paid advertising programs?

-—BREAKING NEWS-—
We’re talking with Congressman Paul Ryan. “Congressman...what are your feelings on the activities in Ferguson, Missouri? And, by the way folks, be sure and read Congressman Ryan’s new book...The Way Forward: Renewing the American Idea, available thru all of your favorite book outlets.”

(Book cover briefly displayed on the TV screen.)

Correct, he is a RINO amd he can’t shake the image. He talked smack and got it handed to him. Siding in with the elitists in DC he has sunk his own ship.

smart, wonderful people, cursed by unprincipled, self-promoting leaders.

Uh, I think you missed the dichotomy: it is these "smart, wonderful people" nominating these "unprincipled, self-promoting leaders."

Go away Paul Ryan. You are a liberal and you’ve proven it with your Democrat talking points.

One would think there would be so much to bash the Democrats over that there wouldn’t be time to bash the Republicans.

The Democrats never seem to have this problem.
